I used to have the video bookmarked (was on iFilms, which I believe was run out of business by YouTube) of Zappa smoking Robert Novack like a cheap cigar on Crossfire, about 25 years ago, over the First Amendment. Lordy, he was a smart and savvy guy. It’s easy to make Novack look like an idiot, but Zappa also turned him into a raving lunatic (which became easier to do over the years, but was a mean trick back in the early days).
