It will surprise no one familiar with the Bibleburg Military-Industrial Christo-Clusterplex that the El Pendejo County commissioners have voted to oppose Uncle Ben Schickelgruber’s End O’ Life™ Care, just, ’cause, like, y’know, ’cause he’s a tax-and-spend Islamic socialist and illegal alien who wants to kill your granny.
Health-care reform, bleats Commissioner Amy Lethen — who is proud of having helped elect the infamous beer-swilling DA, John Newsome — would place the good, God-fearing bidnessmen of El Pendejo County “under the thumb of the federal government.”
Jesus wept.
Pardon my French, but just how fucking stupid can you get? Bibleburg could care less about the federal thumb — it already has a liplock on Uncle Sammy’s floppy pink comm’niss hooters that a lamprey would envy. The place is home to Fort Carson, Peterson AFB, Schriever AFB, NORAD, the Cheyenne Mountain Air Station and the Air Force Academy — and leave us not forget the military retirees enjoying gummint pensions, VA medical care and the local PXes, BXes and commissaries.
Then we have the civilian retirees and low-income families on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Head Start, the National School Lunch Program, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Bibleburg has never been a fat-paycheck kind of town — a working guy (or a gal) often needs a little sumpin’-sumpin’ from Uncle to make ends meet in the cold, dark shadow of Pikes Peak, a famous view that clips more than a buck or two off the prevailing hourly wage.
So who needs health-care reform? Are there no emergency rooms? No prisons? No workhouses?

FAUX News, Rush Windbag, the Christo-fascists and the GOP are masters of getting not-so-bright people to vote against their own self-interest. These are the same simpletons who were so easily riled up about the “death tax” when none of ’em will ever have any sort of estate to tax in the first place! Now they’re wound up about “Obamacare” when they are the ones who will actually benefit in most cases! All these right-wing groups profit from the plight of the simpleton, so of course they try to get ’em to oppose anything that might take a few crumbs from their huge, corporate plate and give them to the little guy who has nothing. It’s spelled G-R-E-E-D, pure and simple.
… and P-O-W-E-R.
Here’s the link to the NYT editorial on small business and health care reform I mentioned a while back
I can respect a conservative that bases his/her views on facts and a reality-based world view, even if I don’t agree. Of course, I can’t remember the last time I met anybody like that.
“So who needs health-care reform? Are there no emergency rooms? No prisons? No workhouses?”…no graveyards?
Where was I perusing earlier today when I saw that China (Commie-Capitalist Despot Reform State) was pushing out the Execution Van for it’s populace. I think it was over on Yahoo! (soon to be a division of Micro & Soft).
Which now that I think about it pretty much describes the GOP brain capacity…micro & soft.
Anyway, back on point. It seems that these traveling execution vans are slatted to roll out soon in China whereby they will allow persons to kill themselves (and presumably their grannies too) in the privacy of the van. Now I can’t figure out if that is a Commie way of doing things or if there is a little bit of capitalism involved. Nothing like those Chinese free-thinkers to come up with this crazy idea.
Either that or they have back engineered it so fast that they are planning to take over when Obamacare v1.0 fails.
I seem to remember that Government Health Care that I got as a kid when Dad was doing his 20+ and out in the green suit as not so bad. I’m still shaking my head at the folks that are on Medicare and Medicaid that don’t understand that these ARE government health care programs. Hell, the bro-in-law was super happy to get that government health care when he turned 62. He and the sister have been rolling the dice since he’s had heart issue and she’s a cancer survivor.
What these bozos don’t realize is that they can get the same level of care for less money because they won’t be paying hundreds of fat cats millions of dollars each to basically act rich. The value added to salary ratio is about zero for the upper ends of the executive chain, and cutting those bozos out will save hundreds of millions of dollars, maybe as much as a billion. Without changing the level of care.
