Some animals are more equal than others

How is it that respectable news organizations keep giving Darth Cheney a soapbox? I will be interested in his oinkings when they emanate from between the bars of a jail cell.

And while we’re on the topic of mistaking bullshit for a more nourishing substance, Steve Benen at Political Animal notes that The Washington Post ombudsman writes (surprise, surprise) that most of the health-care “journalism” to date has been of the smelly, stick-to-your-boots variety.

Notes Benen: “For the media in general, I think there’s a reliance on horse-race and he-said-she-said journalism because it’s easy — and because all of their colleagues and competitors are doing the same thing.”

  1. The Repubs (sorta like retards but perhaps stupider?) are on the ropes with no respectable leadership. Darth Cheney at least has some cloak of respectability since he’s been just a pretzel away from being the President and can certainly be counted on to deliver a snarling critique of just about anything FAUX News wants to ask him about. Cheney better be worried as he might live long enough to be indicted and there’s nobody to pardon him! These right-wingers also have their panties all in a twist over proposed healthcare reforms effect on the US deficit. But where was their big concern for deficits when W and Co. started two unfunded wars while handing out tax cuts to his rich cronies? Why did FAUX News not organize a mob of flag-waving morons to protest THAT idea?
