Oy. Busy, busy, busy. Another too-soon BRAIN deadline, a cartoon due for VeloNews, discussions with various VN.com types about the joys of CSS pre-Giro, chats with Adventure Cyclist management about further crimes against cyclo-tourism journalism — neither the rock nor that mountain is getting any smaller. Oh, the humanity.
And then there’s the god damned wind, which is pelting my snout with tree pollen. My skull feels like an overinflated tire on a very rocky road, and not even white dog helps. My backcracker has supplied me with various curative pills and potions but I’m not interested in experimentation until I get past these deadlines. No funny, no money. And then no backcracker.
The good news is, even with pollen-ravaged sinuses, a belly full of moonshine and a comedy well that has very nearly run dry, I’m not as retarded as Republican Dan Fanelli, who hopes to challenge Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) this year. Dude thinks only brown brings the crazy. He should try looking in the fucking mirror. Props to Steve Benen at Political Animal for the tip and the clip.

Another wide stance type, this time a baptist minister. Makes me proud to be an atheist.

The clip was taken down from YouTube, the calculus of which is making my head hurt. The guy makes an ad, but doesn’t want anyone to see it? Sounds like someone I want managing the federal checkbook.
By the way, love how they say “made him aware of his rights,” as if he’s never seen a freaking episode of Law and Order. Seriously, we’re talking about Miranda like it’s some mystical incantation. Who on this freaking planet doesn’t know what his Miranda rights are? If anything, your typical nefarious type is better versed in them as the coppers.
Heard a joke today that you need.
2 Irish men run out of a bar…….. hey it could happen.
than the coppers …
not “as the coppers.”
Anyway, folks say they’re going to deny them their Miranda rights, like that’s going to teach them a lesson. All it’s going to do is make sure their attorneys have more ammo when they go to trial.
I just don’t get it … the “law and order” types don’t trust our laws or our orders. Why aren’t they the ones who get beaten up for being anti-American?
Steve, Good points. The mental disconnect of the ‘law and order types’ you mention is an ageless phenomenon. I remember it from my look ago and oft fondly recalled hippie days. Anyway it’s about defining everybody else as an out-group not as deserving as one’s own self described in-group.
The tea baggers are just the latest example of a bunch of narrow minded self oppressed disgruntled citizens deciding they are the true Americans and everyone else is not. The fantasy is helped along by very selective memories and faulty interpretations of law, a key one being the Constitution applies only to citizens. Their reasoning just goes down hill from there. Fed by an intensive environment of group think like the one that brought us the invasion of Iraq.
They don’t get beat up as most people think it is cruel to handle crazy folks harshly. That may need to change.
