We’re seeing lots of journalism from The Old Gray Lady, McClatchy and other national news sources lately about politics in Colorado.
The Senate contest between the right-wing dingbat Ken “Aw, She Was Askin’ For It” Buck and Democrat Michael Bennett is a tossup in the final stretch, despite the nearly $30 million spent on it by deep-pockets interest groups outside Colorado, a state that had to slash $260 million from its funding for public schools this year and still faces a $262 million deficit.
And voters in Larimer County are said to be confused and angry, which will surprise no one who is actually from Colorado; Larimer is only slightly less fire-engine red than our own El Paso County.
Speaking of which, the local cage-liner has come out for Buck, naturally, and I expect Bibleburg to turn out in force for him, though we went for Obama way back when “change” wasn’t all that was left in our pockets. The electorate has the attention span of a retarded golden retriever and will eagerly bite the hand that feeds it, regardless of race, creed, color or religion.
Well, maybe and maybe not. The Washington Post recently undertook a massive survey of the so-called Tea Party “movement” and 11 percent of these fine, upstanding Americans said that the prez’s race, religion or ethnic background was either a “very important” or “somewhat important” factor in the support their groups have received.
Surprise, surprise. Some angry, dumb-ass honkies are scared of anyone who doesn’t share their skin color, superstition or ethnic heritage. They get to vote right alongside the smart people, and anger is a powerful motivator, especially in tandem with ignorance (ask any opinion-page editor).
Fact is, shit rolls downhill, and Obama and the Donks are living in the valley. Doesn’t matter that the Daffy-Fudd administration piled all those turds up there and then gave them a push on their way out the door — or that all us little folk are trapped down there in Smelly Valley, too.
Toss the rascals out! If only we were talking about the right ones. …

“…11 percent of these fine, upstanding Americans said that the prez’s race, religion or ethnic background was either a “very important” or “somewhat important” factor in the support their groups have received.”
Let’s give credit where credit is due: at least 11 percent are honest. It’s the other 89% who are lying through their teeth. If there’s so in favor of smaller government and shrinking the debt, where the hell were these people between 2000 and 2008? Oh, but elect a black democrat and they suddenly materialize into existence.
Over here in Dysfunction Junction, Colorado’s other psycho ward (the one besides Bibleburg), it wouldn’t matter if Obama was handing out fat checks to these people every month, he’s black and they hate him. Come to think of it, enough of these folks are either retired or in agriculture that the Fed is in fact handing them a big check every month. “Shrink the Government!” they yell, “But you’d damn well better get my check here on time.”
Meanwhile, Hick and Salazar made a campaign stop here yesterday and gave speeches in front of the Mesa County Democrats. All three of them.
Did you catch the story about Rand Paul supporters tackleing and “stepping on the head” of an Move on person challenging the canidate? Sounds like Paul is getting advice from that nut case in Alaska, both of whom are using the “Stazie Handbook” on oppisition control. Pretty F’ing scarry if you ask me.
you know there is serious talk about palin being president, thats some scary shit.
The Tea Party should just be honest and admit they’re the KKK. All the ranting about “taking their country back” from a group funded by corporate interests would be laughable if it wasn’t so dangerous. Caribou Barbie talks about the “honor” of public service while saying nothing about bailing out of Alaska’s governor’s seat herself. Meanwhile a group of morons here in Iowa are running around trying to unseat three judges involved in the decision to let “Adam and Steve” get married in our state. Not a one has explained how their rights have been adversely affected by this decision by “activist judges” (defintion: a judge who decides against whatever you think) and I think most of ’em, if given a chance would have no problem with slavery being reauthorized by the Iowa Constitution. Get out there and vote for the least of the evils on November 2…or we’ll get the worst of ’em!
“Throw the bums out” would work great here since they’re all Repugs already. Too bad they won’t take their own advice.
Like I heard from this English guy on Sirius radio Friday, “it looks like this country is about to vote for logjam”. I can hardly wait…
This is sanitized racism, pure and simple.
Wow a $262 million deficit? That is pretty impressive. That was Cal-ee-four-knee-ya in the 80s. Now we have $19 billion deficit and education makes up at least 40% of our yearly budget….thanks (NOT!) to the teachers’ unions. Of course we still rank 49th out of the 50 states in terms of educational achievements for grade schoolers too.
Maybe the TPs are on to something because Satan forbid we all have to deal with this craziness for 10 more days. I mean a week. Okay, three more years listening to sorry losers crying about the bloated “guv’ment” and how they can’t fix the problems that we all create. Yep…it’s the guv’ment’s fault that Johnny has no edubecation, can’t spell worth a darn, and makes $8 flipping burgers at Mayor McCheese’s house.
See….they are on to something. It is someone else’s fault that they are idiots!
I’d feel much sorrier for you except I’m here in Ne-va-duh, facing a possible win by batshit crazy teanut Sharron Angle. You ain’t seen nuthin.
