  1. That’s about perfect, Patrick. Thank you. Just don’t miss with the empties. We just replaced all the friggin’ picture windows.

On Saturday, some Fanta Sea Democratic volunteer told us we shouldn’t vote for Susanna Martinez (Repug, Sodom-Gomorrah) for Governor because she is from Texas. “Susanna Tejana” or something.

Not that I am fond of Texas, as you know, but I told the guy he was an idiot and I could think of a half dozen reasons NOT to vote for her that actually had something to do with her actions rather than where she was whelped. Such as, having recently taken a gob of money from Bechtel, being anti-choice, anti medical marijuana, anti-union, anti-environment, and anti-gay. Just call her Aunti Martinez…

Its gonna be a long day. Good thing there is some strong drink in the closet.

  2. Here’s my schedule for today. Work until 5, meanwhile getting the grill prepped during lunch hour. Walk from the office to the polls after work, vote straight-ticket Repug (I triple-dog dare you to move to NC Patrick) Actually, it won’t be straight ticket either way, but it will weigh more heavily toward Team D. After performing my civic duty I will cross S Center St to the oh-so-conveniently-placed liquor store and pick up a bottle of good Scotch and maybe some cheap whiskey (note the added “e”) as a supplement when the taste buds are a moot point.

Then I will walk home, start the fire, apply the swine’s ass (which has been rubbed since last night), and then liberally apply various forms of booze until poridicks cease to matter for a little while. If I do it right, I’ll still be sober enough to chew swine flesh before I pass out.

Thank you, good night, and good luck.

  3. I didn’t vote for THE democrat. A voted a write-in for a democrat who is my friend and shares the same values (as far as I can tell) that I do. I couldn’t stomach voting for the incumbent again after he sold me out one too many times to the rich corporations. You want retirement income? Sorry, we’re going to take that federal income you were promised when you retired. You want universal health care? Sorry, the local for-profit hospitals can’t afford that. You want us to leave medicare alone? Sorry, it doesn’t make enough money for the pharmaceutical companies. You want no censoring or filtering of the internet? Sorry, there are some things you just shouldn’t see. You say no one should tap your telephones, cell phones, email or internet feed? Sorry, we can’t keep you safe if we don’t. You want more traffic on rail and less on highways with expensive-to-run 18 wheelers? Sorry, the trucking companies (but not the unions) say that would cut their profits. Can you believe this guy use to be a “liberal?”

What would the other guy do? He says he’d cut our taxes more and cripple government since he hates it anyway and ensure my wife gets pregnant again since contraception is immoral. My current dem rep is moving toward those opinions anyway (since it makes more money from those corporations) but otherwise they have the same opinions on everything else.

I got fed up with it and voted for a dem not on the ballot. If that means the country falls (and it might) into pre-WWII-Germany chaos and is taken over by some hitlers, well, it’s going that way anyway. After ten plus years of telling everyone the sky is falling, watching it fall and everyone else tell me what a sunny day it is, I’ve given up. I will now vote for someone I like and trust. I can no longer prevent any part of the sky from falling as I’m too tired to hold it up any longer.

I wish Perriello would move from the 5th district VA to the 9th.

Please move to Blacksburg, Virginia. I will welcome you and we can go cycling together.

  4. Well said and well delivered. You have a great voice and could be a “read by” with that talent. You need an agent. A Democratic agent.

  5. gmknobl: I like your spunk and I feel your pain. There’s not a hope in hell that I’d move to Blacksburg Virginia, or anywhere east of the Mississippi for that matter. But I really appreciate the welcome, and I’d love to go for a ride with you. I really would… For some reason your post gave me a ray of hope. Maybe it’s the Zin though – I don’t know…

  6. Thank goodness that station is done and gone cause I could have driven a Mack, Peterbilt and Harley convention through that dead air at the beginning.

Any who, can’t say that I voted (when I did two weeks ago) for a Democrant. But I did wish them well in their endeavors. I am glad that Jerry Brown is back in SacTown though…considering the alternative. I am still waiting to see who may replace him as my Big Boss but one or the other is fine by moi. Can’t say that I am too happy that the “Legalize It!” proposition will pass as it appears that it is going up in smoke. Too bad. I was really hoping to see my co-workers proven idiots for their “if you legalize it more people will smoke it” diatribe. Oh well…..
