    1. Hey, K … glad you liked that one. I took it with my little point-and-shoot, a Canon PowerShot 300 HS. It lets you shoot using all kinds of nifty special effects, including fisheye, monochrome, super vivid color/color accent/color swap, posterization — even HD video and slo-mo, too.

For this one I just reclined and shot upward. Easy sleazy. $150 at Best Buy.

  1. Ouch…can I unsee that photograph? I just rode out to our yearly cx race today to drink and heckle. Done, done and DONE.

It was in the 60s over here today. Have fun with the TdN Patrick!

On a side note…I sense a bit of camera-geekery from Herr Spencer. Come on khal…fess up! (For what it’s worth I’m a rangefinder weirdo)

  2. Well , I wimped out and worked our State CX championship race today. Overcast, 40’s, west wind, raw and damp. Does suffering for the sport as course marshal count towards annual miles? My ears are still ringing from all the cow bells.

Spent a hour yesterday on a computrainer, thought I was going to die.

  3. EECCHHH! or however they used to spell that at Mad Magazine. Today we leave the rainy bay of Naples to return to (we hope) sunny Sicily where we can ride bikes outside as god and Tullio intended.

  4. I’m lamenting the death of my old one a year ago. A small trainer. I bought a used magnetic one on the cheap and soon discovered that it really is cheap. No resistance whatsoever! Now, it’s $350 if I’m lucky to get a new one that actually works. I think I won’t be in good shape come spring.
