I used to work as a carpenter/project lead and I remember one time when the boss hired some guys to tear down an old shed. Their method was to take a chain saw and walk around the building cutting a horizontal line. Worked fine until they had the roof, still intact, near the ground. Then one guy got on the roof and started bashing it with a sledge hammer while another guy went inside and start bashing on what was left of the walls!!!

It’s crazy how the particulars of the Left vs Right battle have changed so much over the years, but the basic gist has not. The Republicans started out with great promise. I mean, the lead off hitter was Abe Fucking Lincoln. But it took what, two more election cycles before their unifying ideology was simply obstruction, anger, frustration, and fear. I guess the Know Nothings had to go somewhere.
So we’re talking about the current gubmint here, aren’t we? Because barns also scare me.
This is a minor blip in the grand scheme of things. Does not affect 99.9% of this country. But I want to highlight this one particular passage.
