Well, it was still raining this morning at Kartchner Caverns SP, so we called the ball and landed at home. Oh well, we have the chicken chili and sourdough bread we were going to eat up there, so no cooking today. A Guinness or two this afternoon to go with the Norman’s Rare Guitars documentary and then the Ken Burns Revolution first episode. Nah, “Up In Smoke” would fit better.
Aw, shoot. At least you saved the no-cooking part of the holiday. I’ll be making a beef vegetable soup while Herself whips up some cornbread and a salad. We may have some holiday sweets left over, but some old baldheaded sonfabitch has been into that tin the better part of quite some, so who knows?
My wife requested filets, Green Chile mac & cheese, plus an asparagus side and a pinot noir. So Christmas dinner will be jolly. Just finished reassembling a lodgepole log bed. Thank god for 1/2 ” socket set with deep deep-well socket. Damn, moving at 71 is not nearly as easy as it used to be. So joyous holiday season to all citizens of our benighted nation.
My favorite move may have been when we left CrustyTucky for Bibleburg back in 2002. We sold the property “as is,” leaving all the furniture and heavy consumer electronics behind for the new owners. Bought new shit in the B-burg. Big sweaty dudes had to bring it all to us and set it where directed. Number one!
Happy happy joy joy to thee and thine in the new location. How’s Rio Rathole treating you so far?
We are in NW Duck city, 1 block from Paradise Hills Golf
course. Which has a great clubhouse restaurant called The Office. Not a bad neighborhood. Close to most everything. Like the climate, so far no snow and abundant sunshine. The balloons and the burners scare the hell out of the dogs but it is kind of fun. Lost furnace and hot water heater within the first week and two weeks ago refrigerator decided to go south and west, so been doing our part to shore up the local economy. But so far so good, the local paper is interesting as are the local politics,

My sweetheart has one Christmas song in her repertoire. Yup , Merry Christmas From the Family. She gets to sing a few times during the season.

Merry Christmas.
Same to you, señor. Hope the new mayor isn’t working you to death up there, and that the recovery continues with all possible speed.
