So this Dan Maes guy, who fears the UN cycling takeover actually WON the primary election? That means the right-wingers there are as whacky as most of the folks in Iowa’s 5th District, one I’m hoping gets eliminated as a result of the new census — that’ll take care of Steve King short-term but probably just turn him loose like Tom Tancredo to run amok with nothing much else to do but run for governor on a fringe ticket. People say the Dems are in trouble mid-term but will any of these Republican nut-jobs get enough votes state-wide to actually get into office? My wife always replies “people are stupid” to explain this stuff but are there enough morons in CO to overcome the rest?
Well about time to buy a new helmet. Might as well be blue. Very nice job. How many tries to get the letters on straight?
Me thinks you should sport a camouflage Mad Dog jersey to go with the U.N. helmet.
Larry, Dan Maes is crazier than the proverbial shithouse rat. And yes, there are enough eejits in Colorado to put him in office. For him, I think the hook is the reg’lar-Joe thing. Bible-thumper, can’t run a business, understand campaign-finance regulations, keep his story straight about where the money comes from. … you know, just one of the guys. Sound familiar?
Even The Denver Post, which endorsed the Daffy-Fudd regime for a second term, thinks Maes is not up to snuff. Now that’s scary. Too stupid for The Post.
Ben, the lettering was easy. I’ve done it before. You just peel ’em off the sheet and lay ’em gently down, then use an X-Acto knife to ease ’em around until you’re happy with the result. Got a few smiles from folks on the ride today.
Jeff, I’m thinking about doing a one-off New Wheeled Order jersey with the UN logo (simple screenprint job since the election is all of three and a half months off). Blue and white to match the helmet, don’t you know. Maybe I’ll do a sublimated Hammer & Cycle jersey in red and yellow for off-year shenanigans.
I wonder if jersey manufacturers still make helmet covers, circa 1988. We could all sport U.N. helmets without the new helmet pain in the wallet.
Patrick, I’ll take one a those Hammer and Cycle jerseys if they happen. The New Wheel Order one sounds good too, actually.
Been busy as a one-armed paper hanger all day today and yesterday, so just got back to see the damage we done. Excellent helmet.
Count me in for a jersey and a helmet cover. Umm the Orbea is partly UN blue.
Well done O’Great-ey One.
Thanks, gents, and you too, Libby. I’ll work on a couple of designs and post mockups here. And I’m working on a New Wheeled Order WordPress blog, too. It’s not ready for prime time yet, though, and probably won’t be for a few days. Y’just can’t find good help these days, y’know?
