Happy Winter Solstice to All from Harry and Leather at CycleItalia. We too tried to back off a bit on the heavy eating, the pre-event meal last night was homemade tortellini in (homemade of course) brodo and a mixed salad, washed down with some Montepulciano d’Abruzzo dad-in-law picked up at a local store. We capped the evening with Italian lemon cake and a bottle of Asti before turning in to await the arrival of Babbo Natale. Weather today looks crappy so we’ll take a walk this afternoon before things get crazy.
After surviving 40 of these festive times of year, I finally got the real deal…a white fucking Christmas. It looks like somewhere between 5 and 6 inches and I think it’s started falling again. Good thing I’ve got food, firewood, wine, beer and whisky (and whiskey).
