Sayonara, September

Fall leaves
A bit of color in the Old North End.

Judas Priest. How did September slip away so fast? Was it that week in Vegas? Confusion caused by allergy meds? Could it have been downsized along with everything else?

Whatever. Tomorrow it will be October, and I’m betting we get our first snow before Halloween. The furnace just clicked on at midday and the thermostat is set at 67 degrees. Sheesh. Close the doors, shut the windows, batten down the hatches.

It sure is pretty out there, though. Fall will always be my favorite time of year, even though it means hunting up my comfy samue pants for around the house, and arm/knee warmers for outside of it.

  1. Fall is rain season here. Wettest September on record. Half a cup of water out the seat tube after every ride. Ugh Portland can keep this wet.

Snow is (marginally) better. It brushes off and you can X-C ski in it. A passable way to get outside ’till the roads clear and the sun stays up after work.

    Pat very nice photo, again.

  2. It is in the high 70’s about 5 am and 95 about 4:30 pm here in Boulder City Nv. It may cool off sometime next week, supposedly.

  3. Fall colors are in full swing, cool nights – just what I love! Looks like high 60’s, low 70’s all week w/ a slight chance of rain. Hope the rain goes north and helps with the forest fires near the BWCA. Those guys need a break.
