This just in

Marxists seize control of U.S. Supreme Court.

Goddamnit, I want to see John Roberts’ birth certificate. I betcha anything he was a-borned in Red Rooshia.

Either that or San Francisco. I hear he done supported man-dates. What’s next, dancin’ on Sundays?

Were you as floored by that vote as I was, Patrick?

Funny thing happened on the way to the Supreme Court offices, I suppose. John Roberts met up with the ghost of Jacob Marley, and had a pang of humanity.

Interestingly, the usual swing vote to the left, Justice Kennedy, swung to the right on this one. Still ended up 5-4, but with some unlikely bedfellows.

    • Patrick O'Grady Says:

“Unlikely bedfellows.” Heh. Some days you can’t tell the tops from the bottoms. Though most days I feel like anyone outside the Beltway or the Koch brothers’ sphere of influence is pretty much a bottom.

    “some unlikely bedfellows”

Musta been one of them man-dates.

The Atlantic reported that a survey of constitutional scholars found 19 out of 21 thought the law was okay, but only 8 thought it would be unheld.

Which only goes to show … nobody knows nothing.

But the good news … Rush Limbaugh is heading to Canada, because he can’t stand to live in a country with free health care.

    • Patrick O'Grady Says:

Surprised the mortal shit out of me, it did. I was working and didn’t have time to pay close attention — and probably won’t for about three weeks — but my initial reaction was, “Hmm. Seems like another attempt to paint Obama even deeper into the tax-and-spend corner.”

Limbaugh can’t stand to live in a country where the Supreme Court reaffirms that the government can require him to have man-dates.

I hear large portions of San Francisco are de-populating in terror as rednecks flee over every bridge and some even try to swim the bay to safety.

  5. Douglas Glondeniz Says:

    Hey Pat,
I fully expected the decision (by 9 people who already have Govt. health care) to go the other way too. What’s next? Good roads and a new national bike race here? Hope you house situation is getting better !

What, oh what, would that great windbag do in Canada? What with their socialized medicine, higher taxes and love of hockey. I guess he could live in BC where they love plaid. Or maybe Quebec where the French are revered for whatever it is that the French are known for (besides Freedumb Fries of course).

Tickle me amazed that the SCOTUS went outside the box for the first time in a few years. Joy, oh joy!

    • Ira Says:

I’m sure Rush would be welcomed with open arms by Prime Minister Harper, he of very red neck and narrow mind. Harper claims to be a Canadian citizen, but he must have surely been windswept from Texas. The latest move here “Up North” is to close addictions facilities because of budget restraints, while introducing a massive Crime Bill to construct more prisons (crime is at a 20 year low, BTW).

Hope the best for you and yours with the fires, OG. I saw some footage on the news last night, and it looks scary as hell.

Well…in case anyone is ready to leave and not wait on THEM to leave, this seems like a pretty neat idea, if we can come up with the money collectively

I wish I could determine how much property this actually is though. We might be good for one or two hundred grand. Anyone?

Our Italian friends were puzzled when we mentioned the healthcare law being upheld….they still can not understand how the hell the supposedly richest, most civilized country on earth has NOT had this for decades….but you know what my wife says….
