Herself and I finally got around to organizing the garage so I can actually park a car inside. A neighbor took one look and nearly took an infarction along with it. Not pictured: Herself’s three bikes, which are on the other side of the garage.
As we all know, the optimum number of bikes is n+1 where n is the number you currently own. Or, and probably doesn’t apply in your case, s-1 where s is the number where your partner leaves you.
Nevermind. I just got my new Adventure Cycling magazine with the Saga Disc review. Later this afternoon I will enjoy it with a cold pils in my cozy corner.
It’s slightly out of control, no? From time to time I am compelled to remind Herself that I could still be collecting interesting psychedelic experiences.
Hah. For real. But it must be said that I would have a damn’ sight fewer of these things were it not for the generosity of the industry, which continues to offer discounts despite the grievous harm I’ve caused it. It’s like handing out rattle-cans to taggers.
Now if only we had a competent mechanic. Giving me tools is like seating an orangutan at a Hammond organ and expecting the critter to give out with Stevie Winwood’s “Gimme Some Lovin'”.
POG: If you would do an autographed version of that photo and send it to all of us, you would take a lot of pressure off those of us whose better halves think “your number of bikes divided by 10” is way too many!!
Patrick, the first step, which you’ve already taken, is recognizing that you have a problem – well done. Now, forget all that 12 step BS and keep collecting. As Pat says, you’re a professional – these are important tools of your trade.
That IS an impressive lineup there I’ll tell ya. I’ve been having some pangs of guilt over the years as I move past the mid-60s, I still have 5 bikes – three here in California and two in Tuscany. I thought that was a lot. This is whole new paradigm. All of bike-dom salutes you.
I learned long ago space is the limiting factor. In Iowa we have room to hang 8 bikes total for the two of us. Meanwhile in Italy we have 6 more. Then there’s the rental fleet, but those are cash-cows so they don’t count, though when the fleet is replaced the bikes in our size will probably move into the personal category…so there’s 4 more….it never ends. But think of the challenges Ferrari collectors must face!
Watch Rachel Flowers, blind since birth, nail this Frank Zappa solo on stage with Dweezil Zappa and the band
Rachel Flowers is a terrific musician. Her keyboard skills rival her guitar chops. I don’t know the whole backstory, but apparently Rachel’s Zappa mastery became known to Dweezil Zappa and he invited her to guest-gig with his band, Zappa Plays Zappa, in Las Vegas this past Saturday night.
If you don’t want to listen to the whole thing, the solo starts at about 2:00.

It’s even worse than it looks. There are still two bikes in Bibleburg. Three, if you count the Giant stationary trainer.
SOMA: Front and center. Nice.
There are four Somas in that herd, Doug. One of them is supposed to go back to Merry Sales, but I’m already suffering separation anxiety.
Well organized. Now we wait for the workbench area photos.
Alas, my workbench is now Herself’s desk. I need to hit the yard sales.
I notice the disk Saga is still there. I haven’t read the review yet, I think, so it must still be in process.

how about those professional models they picked for the cover?
My herself knows that I’m totally deranged with six road rash makers. Yours must be very understanding with that number.

What’s the old joke? When I die and my wife has to sell all of my bikes, I hope she doesn’t sell them for what I told her I paid for them

Next time Meena complains about my five, I will have her look at this picture.
oops. lost track. Six, plus the tandem and the folding bike in my office.
Four for me, three for Sandy. But, I am just an hobbyist. Patrick is a professional. He needs all those bikes, and probably more, to make a living.
Yes! I need them! Must … have … them! It’s not a sickness! Get away from me with that hypo! Aaaaiiiiieeeeee!
Not sure I see a problem….. nicely organized
For now, Ryan … for now. Just wait ’til all the others arrive. I’m gonna need a bigger garage.
Do you really need to park more than one car in there?
Bike shop in the making.

7 single bikes and a tandem still don’t cost a fraction of what the Porsche set me back.
Baughman would be so proud of the organization.

I wanted to reduce the inventory, so I recently sold 4 and I have bought 2 since “but were such good deals”.
Love it! Majority are ferrous, mayhaps a ti-frame in the mix? No Crabon Fibre, though that outlier on the left (Felt?) looks suspiciously Alyoominium…
Nice rack…You have any good ideas for storing lots of extra wheels?
