Live, from San Lorenzo al Mare, it’s Saturday morning!

Pretty in pink? Well, not so much.

Pretty in pink? Well, not so much.

Didja miss Live Update Guy’s coverage of Paris-Roubaix? Of course you didn’t.

So, naturally, you’ll want to follow along as Charles Pelkey, the Old Guy Who Gets Fat In Winter, the Man On the Scene (MOTS), an otherwise-idle Irish-American ne’er-do-well and the rest of the LUG Nuts Repertory Theatre and Monty Python Appreciation Society call the Giro d’Italia live, as it happens, starting with tomorrow’s team time trial.

In addition to the usual ploddingly tedious race coverage your servers will pile your plate to the rafters with plenty of the old Non-Race-Related-Blah-Blah-Blah®, topped with a nice marinara and maybe a little grated Parmigiano-Reggiano. Mangia, mangia, eat up awready. You look skinny.

    Looking forward to it!

Looks like El Gordo has put on a few more lbs over the winter… 🙂

  2. khal spencer Says:

You’ve obviously lost a shitload of weight since that self-portrait. Time to draw another one….

  3. Pat O'Brien Says:

Just a few too many of the “Power Rings Sports Donuts,” heh?

  4. Hurben Says:

    WTF!

  5. Larry T. Says:

OK, let’s stop this right now – NOBODY here in Italy calls anything marinara, OK? They just don’t. It’s like the guy who makes your espresso…only in the US of A at joints like $4Bucks have I ever heard this person called a “barista”….he’s the BARMAN here where espresso was invented. Don’t make me come back there!!!!
Have fun with the Lugging…I might have to drag my laptop next door to the TV room and offer up some snarky comments. I hope to go to see stage 7 in Fiuggi live on Friday…as long as I can combine the trip with a stop for lunch here

as it’s sort of “on the way” more or less?

Awfully quiet in these parts. Did the Second Coming occur and O’Grady and everyone else get carried up to Paradise?

    • Pat O'Brien Says:

Nope. Me thinks the Giro over on Live Update Guy has got Patrick busy. I hung out there myself for a while this morning.
But, I was glad to see you pop up Khal. How’s things in bomb town?

      • khal spencer Says:

Ok out this way. Stretched a little thin myself.

      • Pat O'Brien Says:

I’m still by my lonesome with the better half in Kentuck visiting family until next Tuesday. Just me and Duffy. Plus the weather is strange. Fifteen to 20 degree below normal, with wind and clouds, some of which today look like monsoon buildups. Hard to get out for a ride, which is what I need right now. It’s the middle of May. WTF?
