Can’t make it all alone

A joyous Christmas Eve to all of yis who keep the joint jumpin’ year in and year out. Here’s hoping Sanity Clause brings us all what we want instead of what we deserve.

* I know, I know, I can’t fool you, there ain’t no Sanity Clause.

Other holiday classics:

• “Father Christmas,” The Kinks.

• “Christmas In Washington,” Steve Earle.

• “Christmas Card From a Hooker In Minneapolis,” Tom Waits.

  1. To all you out there ‘HAVE A JOYFUL WINTER SOLSTICE!” Back here in the West Coast (Oregon) it’s finally snowing in the hills and I’m too beat up to even think about cross-country skiing anymore (sigh).

    I used to love to downhill ski, but that’s when I actually made enough money doing nerd stuff (Mac uber alles since 1992) and didn’t have to work on the weekends.

  2. Happy holidays! I’m another broken-down old timer who used to enjoy skiing on xmas day. Great day for it. This year I’m spending the holiday packing up and getting ready to move. Not far, just from one side of the Peoples’ Republic to the other, but there is still a lot of work to do. Way too much stuff.

    Glad to see you included Father Christmas, PO’G. That’s my all-time favorite! Bah humbug!

  3. Seasons Greeting from down here in Godszone, where Christmas has passed & the madness of Boxing day sales is about to begin.

    No, I won’t be participating, did I mention that the sun is shining & the temperature in Auckland is expected to hit 75Deg F ?

    Which bike to ride? decisions, decisions.

  4. Happy Holidays!!! Still toughing it out in SoCal, nice ride on Mountain Drive to work up an appetite for roast pork with garlic and rosemary, homemade pumpkin ravioli with butter and sage + Zio Lorenzo’s special tiramisu for desert.
