  1. Sign of the times … I’m 54, but with a 1st and 3rd grader dictating my schedule, so when we are doing the live music thing, it’s one of two scenarios: (1) mit kinder, I’m the oldest dude in the room, older than most of the other kids grandparents, or (2) sans kids, I’m the youngest by a decade.

  2. Depressing jokes, but funny. Will someone please make the Rolling Stones and Willie Nelson go away or retire already. Time to chase a tandem’s wheel.

  3. The smart half of our program signed up for a TIAA annuity scheme. We don’t have any kids to worry about leaving anything for so when we’re both done, any money left will go to TIAA. Just like any other insurance, they’re betting they’ll come out on the winning end – in this case with us dead and money left they get to keep.
Might work with me but the wife’s female ancestors live long, long lives so she figures to get her moneysworth and then some out of the deal. She’ll wait on her SS payments until 65 while I’m taking mine now.
The only up-in-the-air thing for us is how much the Italian tax-man is gonna want vs Uncle Sam, but it costs us less to live in Italy than it did in Sioux City, Iowa if you can believe that. Everything we like to eat and drink costs far less here than in Iowa – the $40 I used to drop at the local Farmer’s Mkt there is more like $10 here and the quality is better. Local vino less than $2 a liter – take that TwoBuckChuck! Life is beautiful!

  4. Give ’em a break. The Stones were for themselves when they were young, middle aged, and now old. Trying to set their survivors up for life, I suppose.

They still put on a show.

    1. Nah, can’t do it. No breaks for Willie either; did you see his last ACL performance? Embarrassing is what. As far as survivors go, “God Bless The Child That Got His Own.” We all know who that leaves out of the blessing game.
