Spring forward

Kelli and Shannon take a brief break from eBay Madness.

Huzzah to Herself, who started another lap around the sun today, and an hour early too.

Pal Kelli came out from the Great White Midwest to celebrate the milestone with her (and do a little eBay bidness on the side).

I (not pictured) have been serving as cat wrangler and chief cook-slash- bottle washer. Also, eye candy. You’ll have to trust me on this last one. No paparazzi!

PO’G: Two out of three (cat-wrangler, chief cook et al, and eye candy) is enough to win all professional sports leagues, most elections, and earn you MVP honors.
Please pass on my Happy Birthday Congrats to Herself ….. and reflect on the many blessings you, PO’G, enjoy! 🙂

My batting average is not great. Miss Mia Sopaipilla despises company and has been unsettled for days. The cooking, however, has been praised.

Meanwhile, it’s not my fault I have to shave in the dark. Somebody peed in my gene pool. I blame my parents. Also, society.

Happy Birthday to Herself! All the best!

    • Patrick O'Grady Says:

She had a good one, Mike. A hike, plenty of eBaying, banana bread, baked salmon, asparagus, taters, rosé, three different kinds of cake, birthday greetings from friends and family, the works.

As regards gifts, a new iPad to replace her 2016 iPad Pro (A1673, 32GB) may be in the pipeline; we just need to figure out which one. Apple’s product line is getting a little screwy.

We lowballed the iPads, never thinking that 32GB would prove inadequate for casual use. Now about two-thirds of my apps are offloaded and I still don’t have enough free space to update the OS.

Happy Birthday Shannon! Please let him live another year.

Happy birthday to Herself. And what’s the day when you hit the tape on this lap?

  5. Libby Says:

Happy Birthday to Herself! How wonderful to have a pal visit and help celebrate the occasion. Looks like there is plenty of eye candy at El Rancho this weekend! Cheers!

They’ve been having big fun, Libby. Kelli dodged the latest snowstorm back home and the weather here has been pretty cooperative. Plus she’s picking Herself’s brain for eBay tips and tricks. What’s not to like?

      • Libby Says:

Excellent! Glad Kelli has a respite from very bad weather. We are getting clobbered with snow in the Northeast. 20”-26” or more of snow expected later tonight Monday until 8 PM on Tuesday.
It’s raining now. Big storms very typical in March. We may lose power – it’s the heavy stuff not powdery.

      • Libby Says:

Re the iPad. I have the same situation not enough space to update for a year +. 32 GB 6th generation. I updated my iPhone last year and still paying for it so I limp along with this iPad.

      • Patrick O'Grady Says:

Yow. Now that’s what I call snow. Kelli was heading home yesterday to another dumper, but not of that heft. I hope you keep your lights and heat on. Chihuahua.

Yeah, we screwed the pooch when I bought these iPads way back when. The choice was 32GB, 128GB, or 256GB, and I couldn’t imagine needing (or spending the money for) 128. If they’d offered a 64GB model I’d have gone for it and gotten a little more operating life out of these things.

We have a similar choice now — too much storage or not enough — and if we get Herself a new iPad Pro I’ll go for too much. What’s the old gag? You can never be too rich, too thin, or have too much memory and storage?

Meanwhile, I’ve offloaded every app I don’t use every time I pick up my iPad and am going to score a SanDisk thumb drive to store all the other bits I don’t need immediately. It’s a whole cheaper than a new iThing that I rarely use.

I would enjoy the opportunity to be the first miscreant to offer your fine Mrs. a delightful Happy Birthday ! Of course it would seem that my well wishing is T+ the happy date, but time is relative and well wished thoughts are forever so my greeting is timely and sincere. I hope that she had a fine time yesterday, today, tomorrow and infinitum. Although, with eBay involved it’s hard to appreciate that it might have been better. Ah, the days when ebay touted themselves as only a venue between a buyer and a seller.

Regarding your fine day of emergence, doesn’t that occur in about 10 days or so? March is a fine month isn’t it?

    • Patrick O'Grady Says:

O, she had a fine few days, with her buddy in town and stuff to do. I tried to stay in the background like the creaking of an old house settling. Make the food, wash the dishes, deliver the odd bon mot or two, bow, scuttle away to my hidey-hole to play with the Internets. Also, the cat, who requires some soothing when visitors are in town.

      • Shawn Says:

Are you saying that she knew well back when, but is happily discovering in later years, that by picking the smelly old dog as “the one”, that she made the right choice? Lucky dog.

Speaking of birthdays… Al Jaffee turned 102! Maybe cartooning is the secret to a long life. (Or maybe it just makes it feel long?)
