We got rain!
Not much, it’s true. In fact, it has yet to even register on our rain gauge.
But it’s registered on my brain gauge, and that’s enough for now.
And there’s a chance that we could actually see measurable precipitation as the week unfolds, if the wind doesn’t blow it out of town.
Whoops, here comes the sun. There goes the rain. And I hear a crow laughing at me.
Haw. Haw. Haw.
Ma Nature has an interesting sense of humor. At least she didn’t trick me into putting fenders on a bike … again.

It’s been raining on and off here since about 4PM. Sometimes it was hard enough to flow down the street in front of our joint. I’m guessing about 1/4 inch so far. The mountains are getting more. The temp is down to 66 and dropping. I actually feel a little cool.
We got rain here in N. TX too! I noticed the garbage cans were wet when I took out the garbage tonight. The dirt was still dusty, not muddy and not all the driveway was damp, but the evidence is incontrovertible that we did get (some) rain.
The rain gauge hadn’t budged by the time we hit the sack last night, but some unfamiliar sound woke me around midnight and this morning, hey presto! A big 0.02 inch on the leaderboard. Woo hoo.
We’ll take it. More anticipated today and tomorrow. Yay, etc. And what a joy to awaken feeling cool.
• Update: Hold da phone! We’ve gotten nearly a quarter-inch now, most of it while I was sipping the first cuppa joe. And it’s 58° instead of 78°. Winning!
Winning here too! Woke up to 66 degrees, 1/2 of rain in the gauge, and a predicted 70% chance of more toady and tonight.
Let it rain!
So you were out bright and early dancing in the cul eh?
