It was a light turnout for Halloween at El Rancho Pendejo. We handed out just half of the candy I bought, and not even the two neighbor girls showed up.
Thursday was our first truly chilly fall morning — Herself and I had to break out the pants, long sleeves, gloves, and caps to go running — and I finally caved and switched the HVAC from “cool” to “heat.”
Adios, October; buenos dias, November.
Across town, the Not-So-Great Pumpkin was said to be trick-or-treating a smallish crowd of boneheads in a hangar near the Sunport. Let’s just dial that back to “tricking,” shall we? What treats he has are not for such as we.
In any event, I wouldn’t take a fat envelope of Benjamins from his short, greasy meathooks with a set of fireplace tongs and welder’s gloves. The Secret Service used to take a deep professional interest in counterfeiting, but I expect they’re too busy making sure his fat ass only has the one hole in it to frisk him for funny money.
And like I said, treats? Fuhgedaboudit. We’re waiting to see how many suckers have fallen for his tricks again.

in my small town, i am trying to figure out if the number of voters for TFG out number the signs as every supporter of TFG has on his/her lawn (minimum of four and 20 observed )
We see a lot of that here, too. Yard sign(s), flag, banner(s). A feller can get the arthuritis, lumbago, and palsy flippin’ the bird to all that visual racket.
Here in the Mitten State the tRump signs are many. As in the asshats seem to think putting multiple signs out means more. More what? It just lets everyone know you are (pick one) stupid, misinformed, bigoted, misogynistic, heartless and many other less than neighborly traits. It may appear when driving down my road that OMG!! tRump has it nailed! But count the number of homes with NO signage and they outnumber the tRumpers biggly. Still, concern remains as even when Harris wins, we now know we are stuck with some pretty weird people living around the corner or even next door. Although a minority, we’ve learned the hard way what a ruckus they can raise.
I’ve seen more than a few yards with signs for down-ballot candidates (almost all Republican) but bupkis for president. Good news? Fingers crossed. …
Here in the cul-de-sac the Non-Aggression Pact remains in effect. No signs. It’s not a rule; more like an unspoken agreement among neighbors.
We ended up with excess candy as well and I was dressed down for not being more generous. Trouble is, you only know if you have enough when the evening is over with. I recall one year running out to the local Albertson’s to see the candy cupboard was just about bare. It was cool but pleasant up here and I expected more kids. We had a human wave assault of kids for a while but then it just reduced to a trickle.
So we plan to take the excess candy to the local homeless shelter and donate it. The volunteer dentists will thank us.
So Orange Man had his rally. Whopee. I did read in the Journal where Mayor Keller and Council President Lewis got into a grand pissing match as to whether that old 200k charge for Trump’s previous visit was questionable, given the city didn’t charge Kamala’s hubby for his trip, which also used city resources. Beats me. I’m no lawyer but I can always opine out of semi-ignorance. I would think the devils would be in the details and the lawyers can sort it out. Kinda like UNM discovered when Judge Urias kicked their asses over who gets charged what depending on the message.
And the beat goes on.
Time to get out the vote. Or as the Pythons said..
Trumple foreskin probably had a crowd of dozens. One of ten households in NM has an undocumented immigrant in it. Maybe his mass deportation plan doesn’t quite work there. Plus, a metric shit ton of farm work would not get done. Winning?
Heather Cox Richardson had the past due bill to the city at over $400k, which is apparently why he had his rally at a private airplane hanger. The new venue also had the benefit of making a small crowd look like a big one, so maybe stiffing the city of Albuquerque had its benefits.
We also over-estimated the amount of candy needed. I found that a rear flasher off the bike looks pretty spooky when you put it in a 5 gallon white bucket with a piece of frosted glass on top.
That 400k is because they have been adding interest payments. The original bill was a little over 200k. Question is, what is an “official visit” as Keller’s mouthpiece said “there was “no bill for Doug Emhoff’s recent official visit to the Sunport” because the city “typically” does not “bill dignitaries or elected leaders who are visiting in an official capacity.”
But the Trump bill in question was when he was POTUS. I say let the lawyers sort it out, as I have as much trust in Keller as I do in Trump.

Might as well make it a good stout figure, since they’ll never get it.
Who knows? I figure if it were that clear cut, the city should have sued by now.
