I want OUT too! Came back up to Santa Barbara this afternoon after paying a visit to our friends at Torelli Bicycle Company down in North Hollywood and saw some sort of glowing orb in the sky….with any luck we might be able to go outside and play tomorrow…with bicycles in the sunshine! The afternoon will be filled with our annual holiday ravioli-making party.
Jon, the Turk’ has him some big-ass paws. You should see ’em when he spreads ’em for a stretch. Catcher’s mitts full of X-Acto knives, is what. When the Turk’ gets you with one of those, you’ve done been got, for reals.
Larry, you kinda got hosed on this whole Cali getaway, eh? They evac’d the Interbike offices today … no word on whether it was by boat. Here in Bibleburg, we got out for a 20-minute run and afterward my face felt like I’d been Novocained by a retarded dentist. Twenty-something and freezing fog. Good times.
My cat is 4 feet away from me and he woke up when Turk miaowed. I love how Turk washes windows and it looked like he fogged up the glass in the first scene! I cat has trained me to open the inside window too so he can arrange himself inside the sill.
Yesterday’s notable anniversary was Frank Zappa’s passing – today it is 8 ? years since Joe Strummer died.
Libby, if the Turk’ can’t get outside — and as you can see, he strives mightily to get there — he has to have some window time. We leave the storm window shut, usually, and just let him sprawl inside the sill, where he can keep an eye on the squirrels, birds and other trespassers in his domain.
He’ll also stand by the back door and leap up, grabbing the doorknob with both forepaws. He knows how it works, all right, he just can’t quite make it happen.
And yep, eight years since Joe Strummer left us. Appalling how quickly the good ones leave and how long the bad ones stay. God takes the headliners and leaves us with the opening acts.
Another viewing and I must note the discrepancy between size of voice and size of body/age of cat that so often happens with our furry friends. Turk’ using the teeny tiny kitten voice combined with the elongated and powerful body! Also, I note the catowner concession to window coverings – curtains and shades must be eliminated or pushed back, shortened or otherwise minimized or arranged for the amusement, relaxation or general goodwill of these creatures.
Those are paws? Paddles is more like it. Criminy, it looks like two paws per leg.

Dirty screws, dirty screws, let me out.
