So much for my skill at prognostication. Marianne Vos wins the women’s race and Zdenek Stybar takes the men’s title.
I was trying to follow the men’s race via streaming video, but it blew up on me somewhere in the third lap so I clocked in and went to work. The video finally came back to life with two laps remaining, so I had that going for me.
Man, check that photo of the men’s podium. Those are two disgruntled Belgians.

Of course those Belgians are disgruntled, and think of the beating they’ll get when they arrive home.
Pauwels looks like he’s thinking about defecting. “I don’t care where I go, Sudan, Egypt, Bibleburg, anywhere but Belgium. They will run us naked through the streets with cattle prods.”
Not as pissed as the U-23 champion from the Netherlands. He looked downright manic….and he WON! Must be the juice they are on. Oh wait, I forgot they are clean……
