We’ll be right back after this word from. …

A couple of you were wondering whether I had recently added advertising to the old blog. Nope. It’s still purely a labor of love on this end.

But it appears WordPress does, and I finally saw one of them myself last night when I checked the blog via iPad.

I had forgotten that WordPress reserves the right to ad-slap us now and then. The service is free, after all, so I’m not inclined to complain — and happily, there is an easy workaround. All I need to do is send the wizards a few drachmas and they’ll leave us be.

Meanwhile, it was 70-something here today and I sallied forth on the Jones for another get-acquainted session, this time taking in a few smallish hills. You’ll be pleased to learn that gravity is still in session, along with its opposite, comedy.

And boy, do those big wheels like to roll downhill. I could have parked my dogs on the bars, laced my hands behind my head, leaned back and enjoyed a bit of shuteye.

Oh what the heck. Save your drachmas for Caesar. We groupies can tolerate a few ads.

Continued sunshine here on the Oregon coast; I’m beginning to get nervous with all this sun. I want my gloom back!! 🙂

    • Patrick O'Grady Says:

It’s actually a pretty cheap date, Bruce — just $30 per annum. And if I write it off as a business expense, I get to hide a few more drachmas from Caesar.

Doesn’t sound very Oregonish out your way. I’m hoping the Universe has a little more precip’ in store for us out here. If not, we’re likely to see our postage stamp of a lawn combust spontaneously.

Today dawns a brigher day! It rained last night!! 🙂 No longer to the locals hide inside fearing what wrath the gods bring. We go about our day knowing that God is in Her heaven and all is right with the world!

Yup, $30 isn’t all that bad.

Just FYI, I’ve noticed an ad here or there, but only when someone inserts a YouTube clip. So I assumed it was The Google, not WordPress.

I hate ads as much as the next guy, but being married to a former graphic designer, also realize bills gotta be paid. Better than putting a quarter in a slot for 15 minutes of internets.

Nino, the great mind boggler, speaking to you from a steel box in Russia!

“As the holy book says, in the book of holes, “And they knew not their holes, from an ass, on the ground.””

Ah yes — “Everything you know is wrong!”, the great, great 1975 Firesign album …

    • Patrick O'Grady Says:

John, I recall reading somewhere that the Firesigns didn’t much care for that album, but I found it hysterical. Of course, my brain is not the boss, and there’s a Seeker born every minute.

I’m with Bruce, save your money. I just figured the ad was just part of the deal for funding the blog site; it doesn’t bother me at all. Now, if it started playing just because you rolled over it, then I would pitch in a buck to turn them off. You have to click on it.
