Roll on buddy

The back deck this evening around dark-thirty.

Jeebus. One of those days, to be sure.

I got up this morning, went straight to work, and with time outs to prepare two meals I’ve pretty much been at it ever since. If I’m so busy, how come I ain’t rich?

We got a nice little snowfall today. I moved some of it around this morning and should’ve moved some more this afternoon. What the hell, it will still be there tomorrow, and it will have company. Good for the lawn, what there is of it, and good for the trees. Good for me, too, as we have no gym membership and pushing the mouse around hardly qualifies as strength conditioning.

Speaking of wintertime activities, remember: Cyclo-cross worlds kick off tomorrow with the junior men and elite women. If you’re so inclined (and so equipped), you can stream the action at Universal Sports. Other possibilities include the various feeds at Cyclingfans.com and the UCI. Geo-restricted options may be workable using Hola — I downloaded a Firefox extension for same to the old MacBook and it seems to pull in the UCI feed just fine.

And don’t let me catch any of yis rooting for Marianne Vos. Lovely person, tremendous athlete, stout competitor, and to hell with all that. It’s time to be a shameless homer, goddamnit. Katie Compton über alles!

KFC would be an acceptable winner … but I’m pulling for Caroline Mani. That’s right, a Frenchie over an Amurkin.

Katie F Compton better win or I am thinking the whole thing is rigged! Dutch woman on a Dutch course in the Nederlands…..Win one for the Stars and Stripes KFC because goodness knows that no ‘merican male will be within snot-throwing distance of the podium.

Go Katie Compton! And ya never know about the men. Remember Matt Kelly. Yeah yeah, long shot I know, but I’m rootin’ for ’em.

Seems like this year, again, that water coming from the sky in any form is a good thing.

Go KFC! What a great season she’s having.

Stuck behind a computer monitor were stuck behind a snow shovel beats the hell out of stuck in 10 miles of new go traffic on I 70 because some drunk ass decided to play demolition derby with cops and whoever was in front of him

Dude was swerving all over the place and they assumed you was drunk, but I’m betting he had just installed the Facebook status narrator in his car from the boys at Car Toys, and was having trouble getting it set up.

Speaking of weather in your neck of the state, PO’G, this guy is just a little ways southeast of you and heading toward Pueblo: http://www.robjonesjourney.com/home.html

He’s riding his bike, sans the lower half of both legs courtesy of an IED in Afghanistan. He’ll be going through Pueblo at some point soon, weather be damned (I suspect this guy could kick the weather’s ass anyway). He makes me ashamed of my whimpering anytime it’s below 40 and I decide to stay at home and scarf nachos instead of getting on my bike.

Looks like a true Adventure Cycling story, now if only there was a cycling journalist near his route….

Bad luck for KFC, she must know how Felice Gimondi felt all those years being beaten by Eddy Merckx or like Raymond Poulidor at the mercy of Jacques Anquetil.
