I almost forgot — we actually have us a spot of bicycle racing taking place in scenic metropolitan Bibleburg this weekend.
Round four of the US Cup Pro Series presented by the Sho-Air Cycling Group takes place Saturday and Sunday at Pulpit Rock Park, which is just a hop, skip and a jump from Chez Dog.
I popped round today to say howdy to my man Andy Bohlmann, who is lending a hand with the heavy lifting as the circus comes to town, and I’m going to strive mightily to spectate a bit between chores (yes, I have deadlines and Herself is road-tripping again, leaving me in charge of quarters).
If you’re in town, swing on by. And if you’re not, you can watch via streaming video.

Is pulpit rock up north, at what used to be the end of Nevada Ave? Looks like an interesting venue for cycling.

Yup, it’s part of what’s now called the Austin Bluffs Open Space, on North Nevada, just down the hill from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and north of Garden of the Gods Road/Austin Bluffs Parkway.
You wouldn’t recognize the area from The Good Old Days®. As I’ve said to Herself many’s the time, none of this shit used to be here. Some land whore dropped a metric shit-ton of houses on the east side of Pulpit, smack onto places we used to use for keggers and woodsies in “high” school and for ungroomed, freestyle, mountain-bikey alternatives to Palmer Park in the early Nineties.
Pull out the old Diamond Back and give that race a go. Don’t forget to wear the OGWGFIW jersey. I’m sure Boo won’t tell Herself that you went and played in the dirt while she was working. He’s a dog, after all. Turk might, and Mia will spill the beans as soon as she comes in the door. Remember, dogs have masters, cats have staff.
