The Boo loves a freshly mown lawn, Libby. He’s less fond of the tall stuff, which causes the delicate little flower to lose his footing and stumble along like the town drunk.

Had to cut the ride a little short this morning. Smoke in the air from a forest fire in Sonora, Mexico about 4 miles South of the border. When I started up Ramsey canyon, I could see and smell it. Time to go home.
I should’ve broken out the camera a day earlier, Pat. He spent a good five minutes tearing around the yard as though he’d been turpentined. Big fun. Little guy pretty much spent the rest of the afternoon sleeping it off.
Labor Day – a salute to the labor movement in a country where barely 1 in 10 workers is a organized union member. Sad. Meanwhile here in Iowa we’re getting the Drumpf campaign TV spot – the laughable one where the greasy orange turd who thinks the minimum wage is too high promises — higher wages.
Gawd, I hope the stupid people lose their way to the polls in November!!
The turnout in Arizona, statewide, for the last primary election on August 30th was 24%. This election also chose the board of supervisors for our county and three reps on our city council, and in my neck of the woods, the turnout was a booming 29%. And you know who won. Repugs like McCain. Ignorant, afraid, and angry people vote. The educated, informed, and concerned citizens don’t. If they don’t start, the democratic republic we live in will continue in decline. Larry, you know what your wife says. Why do we keep questioning the professor?
Same here, gents. A turnover that tops 10 percent is hailed as a Triumph of American Democracy. And yet we wonder why the potholes don’t get patched.
I was a union man, briefly, at The Pueblo Chieftain in Colorado. Man, was that ever heavy lifting. Management beat us like a dusty rug in every battle. They had the pros and we had the amateurs. Eventually I took a low-ball buyout and got the hell out of Dodge.
I was always baffled by her adamant opposition to abortion coupled with her support of napalming already born children, at least in SE Asia. One less face of evil infests our world now.
Well said Patrick. Anyone’s death is sad if they didn’t get their water clear before retuning to the source. But, those 1% folks sure cop an arrogant attitude sometimes.
