    1. I was asking Herself the other day who the Youngs were following around while we Olds were fucking everything up.

      She replied, “Bernie.”

Oy vey. At least we had Abbie and Jerry.

    1. This made me reach to my copy of ‘The Real Frank Zappa’ book, one of my favorites.

Back in the late70s, I got asked by a friend to create a road trip tape for him so I used a mix of Jonathon Richmond & the Modern Lovers & Frank’s Joe’s Garage.

Apparently did not go down well with his girl friend’s parents who went along for the ride.

      Still one of my favorites,

I was going to post this one, but decided that it was inappropriate

    2. Libby, I don’t think I have. I’ve got a ton of Zappa around here, and I haven’t worked my way through all of it yet. Sounds like I have a new project for the holiday season.

I have seen the bicycle concert, though. I think Charles “Live Update Guy” Pelkey turned me on to that one.

Hurben, “Joe’s Garage” is a keeper. I stumbled across the Mothers late, starting with “Fillmore East.” But I first became aware of Zappa the man when I saw the “Phi Zappa Krappa” poster in a head shop on South Tejon in Bibleburg. I’ve been working my way through the catalog off and on ever since.

      “One … more … time!”

    1. When I got out of the army, in early spring of 1972, I returned to my then home town to resume the job I had left behind. I walked into the local mall and by the record store. Now, I have written this before in comments, they were playing “Road Ladies” from the Zappa album “Chunga’s Revenge.” Before my army experience, I would have kept walking. But, I turned into the store and bought the album.
So, mate, let’s drink beer till we mutate!
