      1. It was blowing a little here yesterday, but not that hard. Gusts in the high 40s? Batten down the hatches, reef the sails, and prepare for a blow matey! Cloudy and cool down here. No riding for either one of us it seems.

    1. Didn’t know much about him but had a buddy from Iowa who included AJ in his list of who’d-a-guessed-it Iowa graduates. Just looked it up to confirm my memory: masters in vocational rehabilitation. I’m always impressed by folks who finish degrees when they really didn’t need to.

  1. Today?! Every day in the world of “perceptions vs. reality…..aka inside the Beltway of DC”.

As Oscar Wilde said: “Life is too important to be taken seriously”. Wish many of our elected leaders didn’t embody that philosophy.

  2. Reminds me of Iowa! But rather than the usual 50-50 days we get here (that’s temp F and wind MPH) we had a couple last week with just the “warm” temps. That means I ventured outside attached to a bicycle….one with full-fenders as it’s seriously sloppy out there. Might be another chance today?

  3. Hey there mad dog.. I have been reading your blog as of late and noticed that i missed this one. Myself and another guy made that wind sculpture of yours maybe two years ago or so if i remember. I think we only did something like 3 of that style and i just recently made another last week. Anywho….

I also happen to be an avid bicycle mechanic and freak here in Albuquerque. I turn wrenches at Stevie’s happy bikes in Corrales if you want to come say hi if you ride through sometime. My name is Juan and I also happen to write a blog that you might find some interest in.

Thanks mad dog for buying one of the wind pieces! Glad you are continuing to enjoy it and I hope that we can cross paths sometime 🙂

    1. Hey, Juan … cool, glad to hear that a bike guy made that yard art. We bought it from a dude down on Fourth, not far from Casa de Benavidez. Herself and Herself the Elder saw it while cruising around town and the rest, as they say, is history.

You still doing that sort of thing? We might be in the market for some more.

I’ll swing by Stevie’s and say hi. I’m trying to get to all the shops in the vicinity but holy shit, are there ever a ton of ’em. I haven’t even worked my way through the Greater Duke City Metropolitan Area yet.

I’ll scope out the blog, too. Right now I have a couple dudes in the house improving Herself’s office and am slightly distracted by heavy metal, scraping, and housepet supervision.
