Looks like snow

Hal Walter demonstrates the capabilities of the Suzuki SX4 Snowplow Car.

And now, here’s Hal Walter with the weather! (Not brought to you by the Greater Crusty County-Weirdcliffe Association of Realtors®).

    1. Libby, Hal spent Friday down in Alamosa, in the San Luis Valley, attending a track meet with his son Harrison. They drove back to Weirdcliffe just in time to beat a couple-three feet of the white stuff.

When you live at 8,800 feet in the Wet Mountains things gang aft agley, as the poet says. Hal’s ranch is well off the main drag (Colorado Highway 96), down a series of indifferently maintained Crusty County roads, and from time to time if he wants to escape he must take matters into his own hands. Bumpers. Whatevs.

Anyone into the gravel-road craze (and occasional three-foot dumpers) should check the place out. There are more cows than people and a whole bunch of good riding.

  1. Monday, MAY 1, 2017 we’re getting snow in Sioux City, IA USA. Gawd, our departure on Saturday AM for Italia can’t come fast enough!!!

  2. Love winter-y scenes like this.

Wife and I have just returned from the Eastern Sierra high country in Northern Cal – and since we love to xc ski – had a few beautiful days skiing the frozen high lakes and forest – of which there is still 28ft of snow. OMG, it’s unreal up there. We laid tracks over the buried fishing cabin rooftops.

As we head in to May, the epic melt off has begun. June flooding is next.
