A brief roundup as we circle the drain:
• Fake news: A truth deficit when it comes to trade.
• Brass balls? Nope, those are gold.
• I am the Walrus: Th’ hell is a walrus doing hanging around a swamp? I thought climate change was a Chinese hoax.
And now, the good news: That water bottle on your downtube? Turns out it’s the Fountain of Youth.

// In our report on Trump’s speech, reporters Josh Dawsey, Damian Paletta and Erica Werner followed that anecdote with a curt assessment: “It was unclear what he was talking about.” Which is a fair statement. //
That sums up everything.

// “We have right now 32,000 soldiers on the border between North and South Korea. Let’s see what happens.” //
Forget everything else he has said.
That singular statement in and of itself disqualifies him as Commander in Chief.
Let’s see what happens. Brilliant strategy.
I cannot believe a single veteran anywhere would vote for him. But then again, I did two years as a recruiter, and I know how many waivers we processed to get unqualified folks into boots.

// We will also note that Trump has something of a track record of telling stories in which details are misremembered, exaggerated or misrepresented. (There are also stories in which the entire conceit has proven to be false.) //
Ya don’t say.

The truth wouldn’t come within a thousand miles of Il Douche, not even with a chastity belt, a butt plug and an AK-47.

Revolting. I’ll pick one thing: Zinke wanting a free pass from accountability and oversight and inviting critics because “‘I’ve been shot at.'”

That pendejo. Another legend in his own mind. I recall reading somewhere that he didn’t draw a lot of water with the special-forces types. I got the impression he was a political officer even then.

So, first, maybe Stormy Daniels takes this bozo down. That only happens if her pockets are very deep to pay for legal costs.
Or, Russian oligarchs and mobsters call in the orange one’s loans. Not likely.
Perhaps Mueller nails him. He will get close, and get other crooks close to the dumpster, but won’t be able to make it all the way to the white house in my opinion
Congress will finally put country over personal wealth, power, and party. Nah, forget that one.
Voters will wake up and realize this con man is trying to play the last old white guy standing and vote him and his cronies out. We shall see.
Is the bar open yet?

Forget Congress, indeed. As Carl Hulse notes in the NYT, “Congressional Republicans are also well aware that, among the Republican base, Mr. Trump is more popular than they are.”
I expect Mueller to get the ax directly, along with a bunch of other folks, as Il Douche continues to push his political envelope. Mueller might be getting close to hanging Don Jr. out to dry, and that might be enough to push the old man around the bend.
• Late update: Jesus, check this out. I worked with people like this exactly once. I lasted nine months, and I knew in about three that I’d made a horrible mistake in ever taking the job. I quit without having another one to jump to, which should tell you plenty.

And Donnie Jr’s wife is bugging out. Can a indictment be far behind?

Maybe Stormy Daniels has more mojo than I thought.
