Eight o’clock, 70 degrees. Summer may not officially start until June 21, but it feels pretty damn’ summery right now.
The drought is driving famished mule deer down from the foothills and into people’s yards, including ours. The rose bushes provide tasty morsels, as do the lilacs. Looks like they’ve been after the pears as well. And the cinderblock wall is taking something of a beating from the JV hurdlers.
This one was scrawny but a good leaper. Cleared the wall in a single bound.

Cool! I think Mia might meet her match with a mule deer.
It rained here yesterday. It was enough to get water running down the downspouts and road. A tenth of an inch maybe, but rain baby. Smells so good after over 90 days of waiting.

Got a few rivers flooding here. Wish we could send some H2O your way. Today was totally an indoor day unless you had gills.

The late, lamented Chairman Meow tried hunting deer once in Weirdcliffe. It did not go as she had anticipated. Thet kibble must’ve started to look pretty good after the deer chased her up onto the deck.
No floods here, but a small chance of rain, perhaps by midweek. I bet the fire crews would like that.

We received about .2 inch in an hour yesterday afternoon. It looked like the mountains got more. I sent it your way Patrick, COD. They are predicting moisture from Tropical Storm Bud will hit here on Friday through the weekend. Monsoon starting early this year in SE Arizona. Normally, that is not a good sign for a strong monsoon season, and we need it bad.

PS: When the Dumpster and Justin have their charity boxing match, I will bet on the Dumpster going down hard in the first round crying all the way to the canvas.
