We got a wee bit of hail, which always sounds catastrophic on the skylights. But it didn’t do the old salad-shredder routine on the backyard maple, so all is well.

We finally got a good rain down here. We got a 1/2 inch in our neighborhood, there was much more in other parts of town. That is an interesting picture! Love the patterns on the wall. Looks like a fast shutter speed. Sony?
That’s the old Canon S110, Pat, set on Super Vivid mode and doctored a bit in Preview. Really punches up the colors in the rocks; makes ’em look like marbles.
Word is the official rain tally here was 0.61 at the airport, and it looked like it when I went there to fetch Herself home from Florida. There were yuuuuuuge puddles of standing water ever’ whichaway.
No ride again this morning. Showers and storms are forming over the Mogollon rim and then moving Southeast. We had to cut a walk in neighborhood short when the wind and drizzle started a few minutes ago. Backasswards pattern from the normal afternoon monsoon storms that form up over the mountains then move into the valleys

I keep hoping for a nice T-storm at night here to wash the Torino/Milano smog and the humidity out of the sky so I can see the snow-capped Alps again…but the past week has given only enough to make the car dirty. Might be heading up to the big mountains to see the Tour stage next week as the finish is just over the border on the Piccolo San Bernardo climb…that’ll cause it to rain!
