These mutts are so cute when they’re little.

A much younger Dog with his dogs, Sandy (top) and Clancy (bottom), rockin’ around the clock in those Fabulous Fifties. No date or location on the image, but it has to be 1956 or thereabouts and probably Falls Church, Va.

      1. We have developed a taste for baked beans on toast for breakfast. It’s a nice break from oatmeal every now and then. Must be my English heritage trying to dominate the Irish part of me. Figures.

  1. Madra Lá Breithe Shona!

May it be sunny, fine and beautiful !

FYI: The Dog Chart at my vet’s indicates you have a lot of years left.

  2. Passed my 70th trip around the Sun on Mar 26th. The mind thinks it is still 20-something but the brain and body cash the reality checks. Do not have the youth cover all the markers however, it is fun to try. Congratulations you old fart !! May the sod you see be under your feet and the wind be warm on your back.

    1. According to some of a relative sort, you haven’t made any trips at all. It’s the sun who has made those spins and eccentric circles. And since time is relative and you may not have moved, you actually may be younger than those less-relative had supposed. But just because some old dog gets his greetings on his day, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get yours at a less relative time: Happy Birthday to you John from one who has a tendency to be less relative all the time.

  3. It is better to be picking flowers rather than pushing them from below.

    Fly low… Avoid their radar

    1. That’s a real blast from the past, innit? Mom must’ve taken that one. I found another from 1956 that has some of the same brickwork in the background, so I’m calling it a ’56.

      1. It’s a great photo with a pro look to it, right?! Kudos to your Mom. I hope you were able to celebrate at your favorite restaurant or made your favorite meal at home!
