    1. Hey, Libby … the Budster is indeed back at El Rancho del Perro Loco. He’s a little sleepy, but had a bite or two of dinner (soon to be followed by some meds) and has a couple of follow-up appointments for this and that.

I don’t remember there being quite so much involved in bladder-stone surgery circa 1982 or thereabouts, when my old dog Jojo got a nasty rock removed.

I do, however, remember asking the vet to neuter him as long as he was tinkering around down there; the vet did not, and as a consequence I ended up with the best dog ever, Fuerte, daughter of Jojo via a collaboration with a neighbor’s dog.

  1. Jobs announcement can’t mean good news in the health department. One of my childhood baseball heroes died yesterday, Mike Flanagan, just shy of 60. (Hero not so much for his pitching expertise, although he did win a Cy Young, but for his sense of humor.) Got me thinking, every time a celebrity kicks the bucket, he on the contributing, not collecting, end of the social security program. All the money and fame in the world can’t ensure good health.
