  1. It was great following you and Charles Pelkey on LUG today, PO’G. And it seems to me I heard that “bald-fat-guy gene” comment over there too. It’s a good line, and well worth repeating since we call all relate to it…well, all of us save Taylor Phinney that is.

However, I missed “The Phinnisher’s” ride since I got in an hour or so of yard saling this morning. It was worth while too since I found a VAR dishing too for $40. When I got home I checked ebay and found that two of those had sold in the last month for around $300 each! $300 for a dishing tool!? Geezus! Looks like I’ll be selling this one after all.

I got a Park TS2 truing stand at the sale yard sale. Someone must have bought some of those expensive carbon wheels and decided that he’s never going to need to true a wheel again.

    1. Hey, John … thanks for the attaboy. I was more than a little rusty, but Charles is always ready for a live update, even if it’s just a prologue time trial. We’ll be at it again tomorrow, though I may cut out early for a ride.

Man, you scored at the yard sale. Now if only you had yourself a pair of those carbon wheels that never need truing, you’d be set.

  2. BRAVO to Taylor! Geez, the wife used to race against his mother and i can still remember an interview with his old man at the Tour when his face was still wounded from the encounter with the rear window of the team car that spring. Meanwhile, we’re catching the race on TV while preparing for our tour season to start next week.

  3. The Kid did get some awesome genes but he is the one pushing the pedals and it was great to see him crushing on a course that was, ahem, Taylor made for him. Hope he can keep the pink for a while. 3rd ‘merican in Pink not bad young man
