Suit up

The glorious day has arrived: The Old Guys Who Get Fat In Winter jerseys are available for sale now via the Mad Dog Media store at Voler.com.

Big thanks to Patrick Ribera-McKay and Ralph Juarez at Voler for doing all the heavy lifting. I just sat back, and watched, and lit Cuban cigars with thousand-dollar bills.

This is a Produce On Demand deal — production will take seven business days, so it’s not quite like ordering up a 55-gallon drum of personal lubricant on Amazon Prime Day. But considering how long I’ve taken to get around to this little project, another week of unfulfilled craving will seem like a stroll along the beach I plan to buy with my profits.

I’ve already ordered mine, an original yellow model. I still have a first edition of that one, but I never wear it for fear of falling — flesh heals, but Lycra doesn’t.

Just ordered mine. Version 2. I’ve been wanting one of these for a long time. It’s just a little too biographical, though.

What is everyone else waiting for? I can’t be the only one on this team!

  2. Pat O'Brien Says:

I got version one. I like everything bright on the bike, including me. By the way, they have them in women’s sizes too. I just couldn’t talk Sandy into one, yet.

  3. Charley Auer Says:

Version 2, done deal! Hope I’m not too young.

  4. Larry T. Says:

Winter has NOTHING to do with it! I’m an old guy who’s just fat! Hope you sell a zillion of ’em…maybe enough to afford to come over and ride in Italy with us?

  5. bromasi Says:

I got it, I got it, now I’ll have to start riding or maybe not, a beer sounds better.

  6. Pat O'Brien Says:

I forwarded your Voler link to my local bike shop, M&M Cycling. Both owners qualify for the team, and I told them so. I probably won’t go down there for a few weeks.

Woo-hoo. One Medium in That Other Yellow Jersey (the one that really counts) is on the way to BombTown! The world is a better place.

My original Mad Dog Yellow Jersey has been repaired, as the zipper started to separate from the rest of the fabric down at the bottom. So this is good.

    • John in GJ Says:

Medium? You’re off the team till you look more like the rest of us. It’s nothing but pizza and beer for you get the XXL and look like a sausage while wearing it.

      Do it for the team!

  8. Libby Says:

Can we now expect FM Turkenstein to loll around in a sink full of cash?

  9. Russ Williams Says:

Oh joy! Oh rapture! Can anyone speed up the deposit of my social insecurity check? Russ

    • khal spencer Says:

hey, at least you get social security. With what the Office of Personnel Mismanagement did to us, our retirement will be headed to China.

  10. John A Levy Says:

congrats on the issue of the jerseys I need a 3 x for my chest and a xl for my wais. we go with the 3x . alittle more flappin in the wind can’t hurt

  11. Hurben Says:

The Voler Arseholes still do not ship internationally!

Holy Shit, this is the 21st Century, same damn issue that I had with my DC kit a few years ago.

  12. gerald Says:

After many joint rides wearing Rev#1 shirt (it’s no longer worn on the road and now a relic on my private altar) I am so grateful (really!) about the new ones – being made available now for the riders in the US and Canada. Holy Moses ! I am located in Germany and agree to Hurben – it’s a shame that the jersey will not be shipped international to all Mad-Dog / Old-Fat-Guy fans.

  13. Patrick O'Grady Says:

Hurben, Gerald, I didn’t know there were issues with international shipments. If you like, I can order jerseys for you and ship them from Albuquerque. I’ll need jersey selection (original yellow or v2.0); size; and snail-mail address. You can pay me via Paypal or by check/money order.

  14. veloben Says:

V 1 in medium ordered. Getting fat is a relative thing.

  15. Hurben Says:

You are a gentleman Patrick. (I don’t care what the others say).

    My email is :

    hbaynes@xtra.co.nz

Send details & we can get this underway.

  16. Kev Says:
