Hijo, madre. It finally rained.
Well, kinda, sorta. Still, it was enough for the National Weather Service to declare an end — or at least an intermission — to the fifth longest dry streak since 1891.
“All in all, it’s nothing to write home about,” said NWS meteorologist Randall Hergert.
Oh, I dunno. Maybe a quick email:
Dear Mom,
Not on fire. Yet. Please send fire-retardant jammies for my birthday.
Love,
Patrick
Elsewhere, I see Steve Bannon is at loose ends. Never fear, he’ll land on his feet. Just as soon as he pulls them out of his mouth.
And the Republicans aren’t waiting around to get tossed out like Sloppy Steve. They’re running — not for re-election, but for the exits. Even Obama’s bestie Darrell Issa has seen the light, the way a roach does right before it scuttles under the stove.
Meanwhile, what the fuck is it with The New York Times and its pix of elevator doors closing on fascists? Cut that shit out. Seriously. You can bring the concept back when it’s lids closing on coffins.

Don’t count our electoral chickens before they are hatched.

Yeah, the Repugs aren’t running away ’cause they think Donks will kick their asses. They just know there’s nothing left worth stealing.

Donks need to get their shit together. Its hard to kick someone else’s ass when you are too busy falling down onto your own keister.

Finally getting some moisture here too in the Bibleburg environs……light rain that should turn to 1 inch of snow overnight. I was out MTB’ing yesterday and people were hiking/biking/golfing in shorts and short sleeve T-shirts….in early January!!
Haven’t looked at the long-range forecast; but I expect a horrific wildfire season in the SW if this continues.
PO’G/Khal: Please think more about an April Mad Dog Media bloggers reunion in ABQ. 🙂

If the Mad Dog and Herself are willing to put up with us…..

JD is right, a Mad Dog Union Ride would suit me right down to the ground. It would also tickle the shit out of me. And the following year it could be a real reunion.
I put a comment on Hal’s blog, but it hasn’t shown up yet. He probably screens them from new commenters like Sandy does.

April is the worstest month in Colorado, as you know, JD. That’s generally when winter generally makes an appearance. Unless it decides to wait for May.
Lemme consult with my brother wizards as regards some sort of grand-doo and foofaraw. The last couple of Aprils have been pretty pleasant down thisaway.

2018 will be a very politically interesting year. I am not optimistic. Forty percent of voters don’t give a shit, and that is in a presidential election year. Fifty to sixty percent, or more, don’t give a shit in the primaries. So, we will be stuck with whoever the parties and donors decide we should have and the basic business of congress will be ignored another two years. And the orange dumpster will fiddle for three more years while the union circles the bowl. Steve who?

Right you are, Paddy me boyo. There are many shiny objects out there to distract from those boring ol’ midterms.
I have my doubts that President Stable O’Genius will serve the full term, but it’s not as though his understudy would be an improvement. All the world’s a stage, and don’t I wish they were both on one, bound for Indian country.
Meanwhile, The New York Times editorial board says it doesn’t matter if he’s nuts, and adds that the 25th Amendment and impeachment both seems improbable and unlikely. The solution: “Vote, and organize others to register and to vote.”

The primaries are a big part of the problem. We leave to the mouth breathers who show up for the primaries to decide who we will vote for in November. Its the insane leading the ignorant.

Meanwhile, we got outta SoCal just-in-time to avoid the next season after FIRE…FLOOD. Only EARTHQUAKE and RIOT are left. Gawd help ’em since Trump’s not interested – just ask Puerto Rico.
I’m off to Italia tomorrow but I’ll check in now and then, if for nothing else than to brag about the best food, best cycling…etc….Italy really is the best place in the world for a cyclist IMHO.

Another bullet successfully dodged. Remember, now, you need a big place in Italy. A big, big place. Dare I say a yuuuuuuuuuuuge place? ‘Cause you might just have a whole bunch of company.
Don’t worry, I don’t eat much, unless I’m awake.

No worries, though our place there is tiny, there are plenty of rental accommodations on the island.
If you haven’t seen this, it will make you want to figure out a way to move there for sure – https://vimeo.com/179222432
Weather (and a few other issues) permitting I’ll be there by Monday afternoon.
