I was amazed at the photo of the two CA guv’s standing next to Fat Nixon. What public servants they are! Resisting the urge to throttle the greedy sociopath as he claims the fires were caused by poor forest management must take some resolve. But they know Orange Hitler’s help is needed to recover, so they suck it up and let a photo be taken of them with this living embarrassment. Can’t wait for the new term of congress so the opposition can throw some real sand into the gears of the Rethug machine!!!

I’m astounded that his handlers managed to herd him that far west. I thought his range ended in Vegas.

The pussygrabber’s got a golf course in SoCal. When I’m out there cycling with friends I’m SO tempted to stop and pee on the TRUMP letters on the sign, but figure Fat Nixon’s no doubt got video cameras and thugs who’ll f–k me up real good before I could jump back on my bike!

The POSPOTUS called Paradise, CA as Pleasure – twice – remarking “what a name.”

Y’think he was channeling the Eagles?
“They called it Paradise. I don’t know why.”

Sign of the times that it’s considered a success because he isn’t throwing paper towels at people.

i would love to have a job raking the forest.

I was disappointed in Newsome and Brown. Someone needs to stand up to his stupidity. I would have told him we don’t need him to visit. and if he insisted, I would have left him standing at the airport and dared him to cut federal disaster funding.

What was it that Ms.Obama said? Why descend to Fat Nixon’s level? The only result from that is the pussy-grabber-in-chief would try to cut federal disaster relief. That wouldn’t serve the people of CA well, would it?

Because he counts on people being nice and playing by the rules when he doesn’t. He counts on it. People have done it for two years with no results. He doesn’t need understanding and restraint, he needs confrontation. Somebody needs to force his hand; it’s long past the time for action.
November 20, 2018 at 12:27 am |
You really want to risk forcing this guy’s hand? I think the best option is for the new blue congress to put him in a legal investigation straightjacket until his term ends and hope like hell the Demos can come up with someone (anyone) to unseat him in 2020.
Personally, I’d like to see him successfully impeached and spending time behind bars – but I have no fantasy that will ever happen. Do we really want Mike Pence in the Oval Office?
November 20, 2018 at 9:42 am |
At this point, I think Pence is less of a danger to the country then the dumpster. Plus if he’s pushed back on, he is likely to do something illegal, if he hasn’t already, and he would be forced out like tricky Dick. I think the guy really thinks he can become a autocratic dictator. Everything he does seems to undermine the election system, the justice department, the judiciary, and the free press. And they (the repugs and oligarchs) let him get away with it because he sign bills they send him, puts the judges in they tell him too, and keeps the country divided and distracted, and incites violence. Yepo, it’s time to pressure the boy, small b, small o, small y.

Trump’s latest attack on the judiciary bolsters my opinion that Pence is less of a danger to the country than Trump.

It’s gotta be a tough call. I’m glad I don’t have to make it. Because my initial reaction would be to ignore the soulless sonofabitch. Let his staff ferry him around, show him the sights, endure his bullshit and mood swings.
If you spend any time in his presence you know you’re going to be tempted to give him a bop on the beezer, and then the SS boys would have to step in, no matter what they think of him personally.
It would end badly. It will end badly. Il Douche has the honor of a buzzard on a gutpile. Any promises he makes have all the validity of a warranty on consumer electronics sold from the back of a rusty ’74 Econoline at dark-thirty in a 7-Eleven parking lot.

True dat.
That last paragraph was funny stuff, again.

Of course the quartz crystal crowd up here in Fanta Se claims that controlled burns and other forest management practices are war crimes. I wish there were more adults in the room.

My niece and her husband live in the steep hills near San Rafael. When we visited in 2015 I thought that the entire area would be a wasteland in a fire. Then I thought that if the scrub was cleared, the winter rains would cause mudslides.
I’ve never heard of a fire in Death Valley.

I like that country north of the Bay Area proper. Still have a few friends around Petaluma, Santa Rosa and Hopland. Man, I hate to think of that country on fire. I did a ton of driving around there hunting newspaper work (and failing to find it). It really is something, as long as you stay the hell out of the big cities.

Somewhere I heard that if you don’t “manage a forest you will get a over growth of combustible detrotus making the forest ready to go up in a fire ball. I have been told in my old Outdoor School class (age 12) 45 years ago that that was the problem that helped the big Tillamuck Burn fire in Oregon in the 50s. So you can’t just leave a forest alone and suppress the small fires that naturely clean this stuff up. One might think that buy doing nothing it’s almost as bad as if you would have clear cut it.
