Stand down, clown

We’re all bozos on this bus. Some of us more than others.

The speaker of the House lays an epic troll on Il Douche, suggesting that he postpone his State of the Union speech or submit it in writing.

I dunno. I don’t remember anything in the Constitution about black crayon and Big Chief tablets. Y’think he can manage it in  280 characters?

That’s what I call some prime-time Pelosi.

  1. One way to send a very strong message to this asshole would be to let him give his completely fact-free SoU speech, but have every Dem just not show up.

  2. I’m not one for wishing bad things happening, but for the sake of the country, mebbe a little stroking out is just what we need. Keep it up, Nancy.

  3. This budget should have been done in July, whether in omnibus or individual appropriation bills or a combination of the two, in order for it to take effect at the start of the fiscal year in October. Thousands of people in every department of government spend tens of thousands of hours preparing budget submissions that flow up the chain. I used to do it, and shit would hit the fan if it was late or incomplete. Congress can also override a presidential veto. The congress owns this shit show, and we should remember that in 2020. This clown is going down, but until the Boy Scout releases his report this government is broken. My emails to our senators and rep said the same thing, except I added they should grow up and do their jobs.

    1. Pat, and now this MFer has the gall to ORDER workers back to their jobs, without pay where they could at least have tried to get some kind of work, for pay, if they stayed away.

    2. Here’s a Pew piece from this time last year on the congressional fondness for the continuing resolution, a.k.a. kicking the can down the road. Forty years of budgetary malpractice. I’m not anticipating any significant departure from monkey business as usual anytime soon, in part because all these cool new people we elected had to start planning for their re-election before their hands left the Bible. Koran. “Math for Dummies.” Whatevs.

  4. I guess I could have stated it in fewer words. The dumpster’s tantrum started this shit show. You can’t negotiate with a man, and that word is a stretch, who doesn’t care about anyone or anything except himself. As David notes above, this asshole thinks these people support him and so should be happy to work for nothing. Stroking out, huh?

Pelosi brags about congress being an equal branch of government, and she is in charge. Well, if you can’t deliver, then at least shut up. And Patrick, you are right. I am certainly tilting at windmills.

To make myself feel better, I went to Rainbow Guitars today and traded my Ovation for a Taylor Academy A12.

    1. Pelosi’s playing defense. It’s about all she can do with the Senate leaning on its shovel. Your basic delaying action. Make the sonsabitches fight like hell for every inch of ground. It ain’t pretty, but I don’t know that she has many other choices until and if the Senate flips or the Boy Scout comes up with something nasty enough to give us President Pence.

      Trading up? Not exactly,

Speaking of trading, you unloaded the Ovation? I gotta stay out of guitar shops. I’m still thinking about that Taylor GS Mini.

      1. The Ovation was neat, but at it’s heart it was an electric guitar. It sounded much better plugged in than not. And, I wanted the amp out of here. I played a GS mini. I liked the A12 better, and that arm rest on the Academy series is super comfortable. I also played the A10 dreadnaught, but the A12 sounded better to my ear. It was not as bright sounding and had a more balanced tone. My talent, such as it is, is only worth one guitar for now. Next time I come up to ride I will bring it along so you can try it out.

  5. Meanwhile, over here. … Hard to believe this was the result of someone not enjoying their pizza.

And “Trump Jr.” (Interior Minister Matteo Salvini) will be down here tomorrow to make a political spectacle out of it. While the politics over here may be just as f—ked up as in the US of A, at least the food and wine is much, much better and cheaper!!! 🙂
