Happy St. Whatsisface Day

Boggy O’Trotter, fresh from an epic 8-mile ride.
The flowers were in case I croaked en route.

Herself and I kitted up (in green, natch) and rode our mountain bikes over to Herself the Elder’s assisted-living home this afternoon.

It was a resupply op (HtE was out of wine) and the choppers were all grounded, so whaddaya gonna do?

I chose the old DBR Axis TT because it has 26-inch wheels (easy to throw a leg over); fat tires (squish squish squish); and boingy bits (boy-boy-yoinnnnng), all of which help minimize the impact to the bum ankle, which is wearing one of these doodads. Swapped the Time ATACs for flat pedals too.

No land-speed records were set. But it was nice to be riding a bicycle that was actually going somewhere.

      1. Called my stepdad this morning to see how he is doing. He cancelled all his medical appointments to avoid being near anyone sick, as he will be 86 and has some issues one would expect when one is closing in on 90 laps around the sun. He is normally a hermit and lives out in the country. Its one of those times being a hermit is a good thing.

  1. “Nice to be riding a bicycle that was actually going somewhere”: And with someone you love on a mission for someone else you love! What a concept……well done indeed! Ride strong, stay safe and healthy! 🙂

  2. I had a Guinness for you while Alan and I were picking and grinning. Good news on the ride and resupplying Herself the Elder with medicinal alcohol. You all take care and don’t run out of tortillas.

  3. I’m obviously entering my dotage, this should have been the first thing that crossed my mind seeing pictures of empty toilet paper shelves & Australians fighting over it.

(Yes, I have it on vinyl)

  4. Good on ya, PO’G! Get outside while ya still can and deliver some vino to Herself the Elder in the process! BRAVO! Our bulk wine shop is closed until the 22nd for some reason and my other go-to for everyday wine was closed yesterday as well. I’m dealing OK with no riding of bicycles outside, but no vino inside…that might be a real issue soon…I really don’t want to get into my stash of “Sunday Wines” just for everyday. AGGHHhhh!!!!
