Rise and shine

Time for coffee.

Fall back. As in, fall back into bed for another hour.

Or, you can just not get up. Which is what I did.

Herself arose as per usual. Miss Mia Sopaipilla doesn’t know from time changes, and she will parade up and down the hall giving out with “Reveille” until someone — almost always Herself — gets up, marches into the kitchen, and pours some chow into her bowl.

I’m not a morning person, no matter what time it is. I like this bed. I paid for half of it, and I’m gonna get my money’s worth, thank you very much.

As long as someone feeds the cat. Jesus. Sounds like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Louie Gohmert doing the nasty out there.

Oh my. That last sentence makes me want to see if water will run in one of my ears and out the other! Wash that shit right out of my head. Patrick, why you treat me so bad?

I’ll be having nightmares about that last sentence for the next week.

Beseech your gods, whoever they may be, that there be no issue from this unholy bumping of uglies.

Khal, The Scream reminds me of a lot right now. Congrats on your decision to part ways with the hamster wheel. Like the man said, you can make more money, but you can’t make more time.

I told my employer a few weeks ago than I’m done at the end of the calendar year. I had a retirement date set for late next year, but my smarter half saw me stressing and didn’t like the trend. So did what she always does- she went to work.

Now Ms. BL is a highly talented managerial accountant, and after a bit of her spreadsheet work and a meeting with our investment guy we decided we can swing it.

I’ve been a bit better since the decision. I expect even more improvement as I time goes on. Keep a spot for me on the next “Old Dogs’ Ride”.

With all of us bailing out recently it will be quite interesting to see how companies either progress or regress. But we might be way too full of ourselves if we believe the business world can’t function without us. But I’ll say that the folks following us don’t seem to have the work ethic down pat. Maybe that’s a good thing? Remember when the 4 day work week was supposed to come into being?

        • Pat O’Brien Says:

I’ve been gone from my section of the salt mine for 17 years and it’s still there, still going. Government organizations are harder to kill then Dracula.
