From the Frodo Desk

  1. Man that’s gotta raise hell on pizza delivery. Will Door Dashers wear scuba tanks? Meanwhile here in the Mitten we had sunshine ALL day and people streamed outside like escaped cons. Looking over their shoulders furtively for the next cloud formation.

    1. Well, that rain is heading here Tuesday into Wednesday. Most of the moisture will be wrung out of it by then, but we might get an inch more or less. Welcome it is!

Glad Herb got some sun! Now he can see the potholes.

      1. Supposed to get here shortly afterward. Just as the trails are drying out, too. O, well, as we’ve observed many’s the time here, anyone who complains about rain in the desert has no business living there.

  2. Yep we get several of those drownings every year in these parts because they KNOW it’s “Not that deep.” Then they’re in literally over their heads.

      1. Darwin would maybe question his “natural selection” process when it comes to homo sapiens, eh?
Of course, the outliers (physical, mental, spiritual, musical, etc.) always are the ones to set records and achieve “prodigy/genius” status.
Or, as Mark Twain said: “History doesn’t repeat itself; but it often rhymes”.
Then again, you can’t fix stupid. 🙂

  3. Those folks in California are in a tight spot. Hope Chris and the folks in Santa Rosa are doing OK. LA been pounded the last few days. They had to evacuate Laurel Canyon. I used to spend time in Anaheim and Tustin on business, Rockwell and Hughes, back in the late 80’s. Never flew into LAX except once. The rest of the time I landed at John Wayne Airport.

    1. Chris said they were experiencing a bit of weather out his way. Looks like the traditional power outages and road closures, too. SoCal sounds like a right bloody mess. I haven’t been out that way in years, not since I used to fly out to help Bicycle Retailer with production a couple-three owners and staffs ago. It was tough enough for a hick like me to get around in good weather; I can only imagine what it must be like now.
