Hoo-boy. Mark Cavendish was pissed when Andrea Guardini beat him to the line in the last sprinters’ stage of this year’s Giro d’Italia.
It was a clean, straight-up ass-whuppin’, though, with nobody on the deck afterward. Guardini was simply faster than Cav’ this time around.
Tomorrow brings a real leg-breaker, 197km from Treviso to Alpe di Pampeago. Don’t look for Cav’ at the front of that one come the finish line, either.

He continued his pout on the podium with a graceless,frowny. low energy appearance as he received his red jersey. More of the same on Processo Alla Tappa. Guy always talks about doing the rainbow jersey proud but needs to step up in class when he is off the bike.
I do give him a lot of credit for his increasing comfort speaking and understanding Italian.
Dude is making it hard for anyone to like him. I thought I caught a finger wagging, shame on you gesture. That was about as clean and finish as you’ll ever see. One of these days, sprinters will figure out that it’s better to save every thing until after you’ve seen the video tape. And maybe that’ll be the same day that Alberto VO5 asks me to do commercials for them

Missed the TV broadcast – working on a new itinerary for 2013. Geez, I was just starting to warm up to the guy for, unlike the other non-Italian sprinters, not bailing out before the big mountains. But I guess it’s back to the usual. Meanwhile, gotta love this Canadian guy, trying to WIN vs trying not to lose. BRAVO! Today Ivan Basso’s boring train was at least partially derailed – a truly exciting stage!
