Jon Paulos was asking the other day about when we might expect fresh pix of The Three Stooges (Boo, Mia and Turk). That would be today. The Turk has been remarkably photogenic lately, rolling around on the carpet as if it were the nice green lawn we don’t have. And Mia and Boo are always ready for their closeups.
- Whenever Mister Boo visits the kitchen, he expects good things to happen.
- Miss Mia Sopaipilla drew the early shift in the guard tower.
- Field Marshal Turkish von Turkenstein (commander, 1st Feline Home Defense Regiment) prepares to repel a terrorist attack on the upstairs bathroom.

I am slightly confused. Mister Boo’s name tag says Buddy. Is it Boo Buddy, or Buddy Boo? You should see Duffy dance and roll over for a just picked snow pea.

Mister Boo’s moniker was very much a work in progress early on. The Humane Society dubbed him “Sweetpea,” which we changed to “Buddy.” Somehow “Buddy” morphed into “Buddy Boo,” the formal “Mister Boo,” and the less so “The Boo.” Occasionally it’s “Boo Boo,” “His Booness” or “El Booberino,” if you’re not into the whole brevity thing.
The other night, when he was joyously galloping away from me in the snow, it was “Goddamnit Buddy!”
The Boo loves peas, too. He snacks on those while we eat dinner, which mostly keeps his face out of our plates.

Boo it is. Duffy was named by the folks at the Santa Cruz Humane Society. When we first saw him we said, “he looks like a Duffy.” So, Duffy it stayed. Someday I will get a dog and have the balls to name him or her Hosehead.

Haw. I’d forgotten about Hosehead and “Strange Brew.” My pals and I were big fans of “Great White North” back in the day. Me especially, being a Canadian Emeritus (1959-62).

Olympic Gold for your menagerie. Boo, the great spinner, Figure Skating; Mia, Curling, of course; F. M. Turkenstein, the swift and fierce defender, Hockey!
Caught a bit of George Carlin’s “Al Sleet ” yesterday. It was on a local college station, a station I can only tune to in the car. It was hilarious and it was also fun to hear how the audience was so delighted.

That’s a fine looking fur family you have there, Patrick.
I have two very spoiled Persians guarding my home…
