Speaking as an angry white man, all these angry white men are starting to piss me off.
That eternal sense of entitlement was on full peacock display in yesterday’s Cirque du SoWhat? over whether the mendacious and elusive Bart O’Kavanaugh can stand erect long enough to make it to the Supreme Court.
The well of privilege seems bottomless from the top, and these angry white men will continue to draw from it until the bucket finally comes up filled with their obituaries.
Then, I suppose, their angry white sons will inherit the family business.
That business is bankrupt, but failure is for lesser men, and women. The angry white man picks himself up using our bootstraps and plows forward, like the dolt who, when told that he’s penniless, broke, flat busted, says, “That can’t be true. I still have checks in my checkbook.”
Actually, it’s our checkbook. And one of these days the angry white man’s mouth is going to use it to write a check his ass can’t cash.
But I don’t think we’re there yet.
The angry white man still has that big orange credit card we gave him back in 2016. And he’s gonna use that to buy shit the country doesn’t need and can’t afford until we take it away from him.

There were a few parties that I would want to forget if I could remember them in order to forget them.
Barrett or Hardiman are anyone’s choice as conservatives. Seems to me that whether or not he deserved it, old Bart is like that concept in Holy Grail–way too much shit on him to be king. Or in this case, SCOTUS justice.
Latest is that Flake is wavering.

It’s hard to be disappointed when you expect nothing. We got less than nothing yesterday. The only reason they are rushing is because they know he is guilty. And impeachment is much harder than a criminal indictment, if one is even possible with the statute of limitations on rape and sexual assault in Maryland and DC.

Maryland has no statue of limitations on serious felony sexual crimes. DC currently has a 11 to 20 statute of limitations on serious felony sexual crimes. So depending on where it happened, and what charges are possible, would determine if a prosecutor would attempt it.

Someone posted a letter from the MD police. Apparently in 1982 what he did was considered a misdemeanor, with a 1 yr statute of limitations. That law would apply, i.e., an ex post facto law would not apply.

So, it looks like there is no criminal liability for Bart, so he has nothing to lose but the supremes seat. And that he can always blame on politics. I still think he will get confirmed and all this shit will be forgotten in a year. But, it will be fresh in everyone’s mind in November. Maybe that is all we will get. I hope it is enough.
