Jump-starting spring

Rocking out on the trails around Elena Gallegos
with the Salsa Journeyman Claris 650.

Spring may not officially begin until tomorrow, but I got the drop on the sonofabitch yesterday.

The only reason I was wearing long sleeves and knickers was for visual continuity (yep, shooting video for Adventure Cyclist again).

After the ride I mowed the lawn for the first time this year, and then watered.

Today, more video, this time with the Salsa Journeyman Claris 650 rigged for light bikepacking. Extremely light. You know, the kind where you plan to make it to the Hilton but also recall the Yiddish proverb, “Man plans, God laughs.”

I think I sneezed three times just reading “mowing.”

Yesterday both Herself and I were grousing about eyeballs that felt sandpapered, and my nose was running like Il Douche’s Twitter feed. Today seems a little better, but maybe that’s because some moisture is supposed to pass through.

Speaking of moisture, hijo, madre, puto, cabron. SAC is sunk.

Gee, dumpster will have to tell his acting secdef that he doesn’t give a shit about runways and base buildings, he wants his wall! After all, it’s just bad weather.

Great photo….I’m jealous. Snow flurries falling here north of Bibleburg, 38 degrees F, and color the picture in your mind out our window basically 6 inches deep of white stuff.

    • Patrick O'Grady Says:

Springtime in the Rockies, as the fella says. Seems like Bibleburg generally gets its winter in spring anymore. But this year you guys got both barrels.

I was texting with Hal yesterday and mentioned that our tulips are coming up. He replied, “Dude, we have frost coming up.”

I cooked lunch for friends today and then did some chores around the house. Tomorrow I ride, I need some trail time, and play my new guitar some more. Weather here today was peachy. Partly cloudy, light breeze and 72 degrees right now. Finally.

PS: Patrick, the OEM strings, Elixir light gauge 12-53, on that Rainsong finally played in. The thing has stayed in tune for the last 3 days while hanging on the living room wall. Humidifiers? We don’t need no stinking humidifiers.

All of my relatives are in the western panhandle, but lots of friends in and around Omaha. Reports aren’t good.
