Didn’t even notice the date until now – the 5th of May is no big deal in Italy and the party-hearty crowd in Piazza San Domenico seem to need only the sun going down as an excuse anyway.
The mess outside each morning here is shameful, but they get it cleaned up by the late morning every time. I’m not sure who makes this mess each night, as in whether they’re tourists or locals, but we ARE right next to the campus of Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II founded in 1224, so they’ve had plenty of time to hone the celebration of….well………..anything,
