We love April 1st. It’s Duffy’s birthday! Little monster is 10 years old, and he can still terrier shake his toys hard enough to set off local seismometers.

Happy birthday to the Terrier of Sierra Vista. Miss Mia’s 13th birthday arrives in August, and like the Duffinator, she remains an active wee beastie, dashing around and about, leaping onto this and that, and ordering staff around like … like … well, like a cat.
I think Charles is laying low after a long legislative session, digging back into the law practice.
Its a sunny April first up this way.
We have the ol’ partly sunny going on down to here. Also, and too, the wind.
Been Berlin-1945 like, newsreel gray, dreary and rainy up here in the mitten state for about a week. Beginning to tax our fragile, quarantined minds and I’m sure some have thought about bolting for sunny climes. Normally I sure would have been taking a few weeks in the southwest this time of year since spring is always “iffy” here. But rumor has it we’ll get a peek at Old Sol this afternoon.! That would most certainly brighten many a spirit as we remain penned up.
Might hit 48 degrees too which is a bigger deal than you might think.
Herb and I share roughly similar latitudes, on opposite sides of Lake Michigan. Berlin 1945 indeed has it been lately. It was to be “partly sunny” today, but they biffed the forecast and we’ve got a nearly cloudless, sunny, beautiful 40-ish morning going here in Cheeseland.

I have been gone from Waukegan and Carbondale for 39 years. Haven’t looked back, not once. Glad you have a sunny day.
Yeah, I’ve been bitchier more and more each year as the local climate gets drearier. I’m just a few years ’till retirement, and my smarter half says we need to start taking vacays in places to audition them for a post-retirement move.
I definitely need much more sunny, and more short pants weather than parka. I’ve becomes a firm believer that snow is something that you go visit, then you go home. We’ll see how THAT goes.

Well, from a cost of living and weather standpoint, Sierra Vista, AZ and area ain’t bad. I have been retired here 16 years and haven’t found a better place in AZ or NM. Perhaps others have suggestions too.

How about Fairbanks…. Alaska. Great winter riding on dog mushin’ trails…, at toasty sub-zero temps. Wonderful Aurora…, during the long dark nights, and no mosquitos…, for 6 months of the year. But the summers are, well it does rain there a little bit…, and the trails.., well they are a bit muskeggy. But the cabins are cheap!

The gray is one of the things that drove me from Oregon. I gots to have me 375 days of sunshine per annum. Mebbe more.
Yeah. I haven’t learned my lesson about Oregon yet. But there is some sun outside my windows now. I believe a little careful, social distancing outdoor exercise may be in order. My state’s health department says it’s ok to do that.
We’re approved for light outdoor exercise as well, and the two of us got in a nice road ride yesterday, mindful of social distancing. Today I wanted to get some chores done — resupply the pantry, finish the podcast, and see if the Vespa would start (it would). Winning!
Six inches of snow, 15 mph winds, still snowing. April 1 in northwest Montana. most snow on ground since December. no riding today. have food will need to get wine for SO. Boxes not bottles. Siege mentality with the quarantine.
