‘A republic, if you can keep it’

“Miss me yet?”

Go to all that trouble to get rid of a king and what happens? A couple hundred years later six unelected bench-warmers give him back to you.

  1. First thing Biden should do (though he’s too decent to do so) is have Trump jailed in an undisclosed location, without communications, and charged with treason and whatever other charges he wishes to lay on the orange maggot. It would be an official act in keeping the country safe from traitors. Then let the courts sort it out. With SCOTUS on vacation until October, Trump could potentially sit in jail until just before the election, if then.

      1. Official – the President swears an oath to protect the Constitution from all enemies, both foreign and domestic. And I’ll go a step further – in order protect the Constitution and our country, Biden could declare Trump a traitor and have him executed (as was postulated during oral arguments). Biden might not win the election, but Trump wouldn’t either. I am certainly not advocating any of this, but SCOTUS has opened the door for such a scenario.

        1. If only. If only. And he wouldn’t. But… we can dream. And why stop at the former — the Supremes are equally liable for this recent shit.

  2. Usually a “glass is half full” guy (unless it’s Bell’s Amber Ale, then it would be sadly half empty as I mourn the loss of the other half). But this is one sorry sack of shit riding the bench in DC. I expected the tRump kowtowing from 6 of em. But the gutting of environmental laws was simply too far. You’d think they would lay low for the next several months but it could be those six are being threatened by right wing nut jobs. Aw hell….more likely they are having cash stuffed in off shore accounts by some hyper wealthy, James Bondian villains. What once was fantasy is now reality. The White House and the Courts can be bought and conservatives are doing it right out in the open.
